I called and spoke to Jacob about signing up for service. Had appointment set for yesterday and the person never showed up, and I never got a reminder call-morning! Won’t be going with this company and after reading these reviews I’m glad he didn’t show!

So my wife got a call to upgrade system…
So my wife got a call to upgrade system and she agrees to the price for install and new components. Next, set up appointment. Mind you we are long time customers. Now here is where the problems start. I get a call the day before and they leave a voicemail to call number and confirm. This is the 1 and only call i get, it is in the morning and i call back during lunch since i work. When i get ahold of someone they tell me that my time has been cancelled. It’s only been 3 hrs since they called. Well, the fist person transfers me to someone else that tells me that my appointment was cancelled by not following protocol. Says should have been called up to 3 times and way before the day before to confirm time. After speaking with her i was told the scheduler would call me back within 2 hrs and that i had been put on priority since it was their fault. 2 1/2 hrs pass i call back. Speak with a new guy. New story, say they should call me first thing in the morning and gives me a number for the scheduler. After not getting a call, i decide to call after lunch. This time i speak with another rep. Wait for him to I’m guessing punch keys and see about a new time. He comes back saying that the scheduling supervisor says sorry nothing now available for another month. Ask for supervisor number and he says they don’t have that info and to call a different number. I will be cancelling my service ASAP well at least as long as it takes me to hold to talk with someone.

Reply: I did call about moving my service but only if I agree to a 5 year contract. What a rip off
I have used ADT through USAA before but now they want to charge a huge termination fee. I will never use them again and their customer service is terrible. Stay away from them. The system has constant false alarms. They only care about getting you on contract and then you are dead to them.

CORRUPT! CROOKS!!!! DO NOT DO BUSINESS!!! This company truly deserve their bad review. I have never dealt with such a corrupt company. Pressure selling, engineers lying about contract lenght and making you sign a 36 month contract on a tiny ipad saying it's only 12 months. Making it impossible to cancel, even if there is a 18 month break-clause in the contract then stating it was never cancelled. Thank goodness we started recording all our own calls as we got so used to their CORRUPT WAYS. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE CROOKS

DO NOT PURCHASE ADT ALARM SERVICES
ADT is the WORST alarm company out there. I have no idea how the Property Brothers even became spokesmen for this company. I have had ADT for about 5yrs. These last 2 years have been a nightmare with the company overall as well as with customer service. I wont go into all of the details but I significant issues with billing/double billing, customer service reps, being transferred to 8 individuals in one call only to STILL not get the problem resolved, being hung up on, etc. The list just goes on and on. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR YOUR SECURITY SERVICES!

If ever you decide to cancel your service but would like your house alarm to still work there is an alarm that sounds on your keypad every 24 hours that you will have to put in your code 2 times to shut it off. The only way to stop is to power down system or reconnect to service. This should be explained to everyone who buys your service. I did have service for over 20 years.

ADT= Always Down Technology Horrible Home security system. The biggest benefit of a doorbell camera is to see activity when we’re away... I have had multitude issues with the doorbell camera, numerous calls to ADT support, multiple technicians at the house to try and resolve issues, switched internet provider, camera swapped, and issues continue to occur. It’s totally ridiculous that when we are away from the home we are unable to answer door bell or see/talk with anyone coming up to the front door! We have paid our initial contract and monthly service fee on time without missing any payments. Why is it that this continuous issue is not resolved?!!! At this point in time some type of significant credit should be provided to us; review our multiple calls in.. HORRIBLE SYSTEM. HORRIBLE SERVICE!!

WORSE COMPANY EVER!!
This is the most useless company I ever worked with. The installer actually installed one of the door sensors incorrectly, and when I called customer service she tried to tell me the battery was dead, even though I took them out of the dead sensor and put them in a working sensor. She even sent me free batteries, that took months to arrive. I went ahead and made an appointment for a technician to come out, and he found the problem. Then when I got ready to move, we made arrangements to move my service, so I had them cut off my service until my new house was ready to move into. They called me at least twice a week to set up an appointment to turn it on at my new house. Then because I was under contact still, on my next autodraft date they pulled over $900 out of my bank account, to payoff the contract, even though they promised they had put a hold on it. I'd had enough!!! I told them to keep the money, and cancelled all future business with them.

ADT is a SCAM
Customer service is awful! My verbal phrase was never set up initially when safestreets who is their third party installers, in conjunction with the ADT products being cheap and broken within hours. Canceling the 3 year contract within the first 72 hours was a headache. Everyone transfers you to avoid helping and when you finally get to someone they still try to keep you. ADT is a huge scam everything from the staff, products, and customer service. ADT also tried to pull more money out of my account for no reason after the first months bill and installation fee was already transferred. My card was frozen by then. I feel more unsafe now that ADT has my address.

Security company only after a quick buck
My most recent call with ADT was only to check some charges on my account after I decided to cancel my contract all together m. Sharonda handled the call and my needs perfectly. My disapproval and dissatisfaction is with the company ADT. I signed up to become an ADT customer last July when my husband and I moved to a new town due to military change of duty station (which happens often). When I felt unsafe in my home and had to choose between the local security company and ADT, I felt having a contract with a company that could transfer and follow me all over the country for future moves seemed to be my best bet. My husband and I began our contract paying $195 installation and additional money for equipment. I was a little uneasy about paying so much money, however our ADT tech explained the equipment was ours to keep with us when we moved and that the money for installation would be returned to us in the form of a card after a few months into our contract. Fast forward a year later. Our family grew, and my husband and I decide to move in a bigger rental property here in the same town. It was a no brainer to keep ADT after my investment of about $300 just the year before. When I called to have my new home set up with the service and equipment that my family and I had grown comfortable with, I was told to leave the equipment and they would send out new equipment. I clarified several times that they wanted me to leave the equipment that I’d JUST purchased, and that they would replace it. The agent said “yes”. A week later I receive BLUE by ADT. My husband begins to follow the steps to install the new security and stops to ask “Did you buy this on Amazon? I thought we’d get ADT again”. I explained to him that this IS ADT equipment. We were both surprised at the quality of the equipment. The equipment fell off the walls, and was a much lower quality from the equipment we’d grown to expect from ADT the year before. I called first thing the next business morning to find out how to get the ADT services I had before, installed at my new home. I talked to 6 agents that day. 6! It was explained to me that Blue is a new branch by ADT for renters however the year prior, I’d had services through ADT corporate. I was shocked because I would’ve never agreed to “switch” had I known. I kindly asked to cancel my contract after talking to 6 sales reps and 1 1/2 hours of debating. Finally an agent explained that I needed to hang up and tell the operator I was a “home owner” in order to get to the corporate branch. I finally set up an appointment for the following day. The next day Michael Brasington contacts me. Michael was professional and honest. He gives me his pitch and says he can get me a really good deal for equipment for only $200! He assured me no one else would be able to get the amount of equipment I needed for so low. I was confused. I asked why I couldn’t use the equipment I’d JUST purchased a year ago and just replace the window/door sensors. Michael explained I bought that equipment from a “dealer”. I was confused, I explained to him that I bought my equipment from an ADT rep. I told him about calling ADT directly a year ago, about the guy wearing an ADT shirt, having an ADT business card, the contract, EVERYTHING. Michael explained that ADT works with dealers to help boost business, however ADT isn’t responsible for the equipment the dealer issues, and that after a year, ADT buys the contract from the dealer. I was flabbergasted! So Michael assured me HE did for sure work for ADT and that this new equipment that I should purchase would be able to transfer. I thanked him, and declined. As an ADT customer, I felt cheated, lied to, and insecure by the people that I paid my hard earned money to, to protect me. I no longer feel that ADT is a trustworthy company. They seemed to be after a “quick buck” rather than trying to keep their word and help my family and I feel secured. I wish that even one of the 9 agents I encountered had changed my mind.

ADT - too expensive - fees for everything.
We have had ADT for a long time. Would have gotten rid of them long ago, but the house was on the market. Finally sold. They have been hiking fees for a long time. Given the competition, they are exorbitant. If you need any assistance, want to downgrade something, it's going to cost you an arm and a leg. Beware when you are disconnecting. They demand a full 30 day notice. They are going to jam us with fees as we leave. Totally disappointed. Would never recommend them. Would warn prospective users to stay as far away as possible.

I wanted a cctv and a house alarm at my home and this would be my first purchase on something like this. So I had no idea what to get etc and went with ADT THINKING I would be safe. I sent a online request for a quite and initially was happy with the quick response to speak to a sales rep person. During our telephone call she was nice, friendly and completely down to earth. I’m not rich and I don’t have a huge house just your standard 3 bed semi yet felt so comfortable when speaking with her. Anyways I made it clear I wanted cctv two cameras and a house alarm. All this was agreed and was sent documents to sign online etc and to pay a deposit. All was done until someone from there I think customer service department apparently tried to ‘contact me’ so sent me an email to arrange an installation date, Obviously I am excited so I email her back to say I am sorry I missed you (one call) please feel free to call me tomorrow at from this time (working from home with the current pandemic) that email was sent about 6 weeks ago and no response. Anyways I then get a letter to say my direct debit wouldn’t work and when I check a digit was wrong (human error) no issues filled in the new direct debit form and posted that about 5 weeks ago. Didn’t hear anything within this time and was thinking hmmmm I hope everything is okay. Finally I got a call and installation was arranged from a representative who sounded like she just didn’t want to be at work. Not to worry my house is going to be safe and secure wooooooh! The day is here and a really lovely installation man comes round and asks where I want the cameras I say oh well where the suggested that I last spoke with he said ‘has no one been round?’, I said ‘no why?’ He said well someone should of come before hand to assess the area and make sure the cameras are okay to be installed where you ate hoping and im thinking hmmmmm thats true but nothing absolutely there is no communication with this company. So anywho I ask the chap about the cameras to find out you can’t record its not cctv like that. I just said I cant deal with this, declined the cameras which ate basically web cameras that run of wifi! I assumed horribly wrong with it being a leading brand for this kind of service to be nothing less that cctv dvr but nope not that at all. I am still in the process of trying to find out what I have paid for as I had signed the document and spoke to such an unhelpful customer service person and I mean KNEW NOTHING! Was told I would get a call back...you guessed it. I want out and I only had that alarm fitted on Monday. I can feel this is going to be a headache. The joke of it all is I am told what I paid for was just for the alarm system and no cameras!!! God if I knew what I know now! Go elsewhere!!!

ADT is one of the worst customer…
ADT is one of the worst customer service companies I have ever experienced. It has been eight months since I requested a system upgrade due to a break-in in and out the building we have. All I requested was door sensors be added to the system so I could monitor the building. After 8 months and many many many phone calls I still have not received the installation service or a quote for the upgrade. So I decided to cancel my service with ADT monitoring. After an hour and three different phone calls to ADT customer service I was unable to cancel my service as I was misdirected to the wrong departments and people at ADT would cut me off and hang up on me. So as a last resort I called my bank to stop payment ADT for my monthly billing, and unplugged my alarm system. I am now waiting for ADT to call me regarding the stop payment and my alarm system being offline. If you have other options in your area, please use them and do not use ADT.

If I could give zero stars I would. I called ADT to add a sensor to my system, I waited about an hour on the phone before a real person spoke. The then told me i need to upgrade my hardware and I waited another hour to speak wit customer retention. After speaking with them a date was set to install. I call back on july 30, 2020 and here we go again I was on hold for a new record 1:29hrs. The lady apologized for the delay however I explained the phone rang then automatically push me to hold this circle went on for 5 times hence 1:29mins Oh yeah, did I mention that I called before and it was still a ridiculous wait only to have them(system) hung up on me with no call back. I am done so done. I have been with them 6 yrs. I went from a real person when there is a alarm event to a computer or answering machine. If you are being murdered press one. That's a bit of exaggeration however that's how It feel. ADT service went down the tubes. I would have accepted if they use covid as an excuse for the horrible service. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE SERVICE! Never experienced anything like this in my life. I am looking at other companies so if you know a good one drop me a reply.

This a customer service issue that just changed my rating of ADT
This a customer service issue that just happened today 7-29-2020. I requested a new camera and scheduled an appointment. The sales rep. told me I needed to confirm the appointment, but she didn't say if I missed the phone call, please call back. I tried to confirm through the ADT text message..(no option to confirm), I tried to confirm at the website...(no option to confirm), ADT sent me three emails, none of the emails gave me the option to confirm the appointment. I even signed the E Sign documents for the purchase of the camera, payment and a change to my bill. The only option I have is to wait for another phone call and reschedule another appointment. Keep in mind, if I miss the call I'm right back where I started from when I first called to buy the camera.

ADT recent actions means I cannot trust them. They sent a letter confirming the DD they plan to take over the next 3 months. September was over £239 as ADT had stopped my DD to cover a complaint regarding a service failure. ADT failed to re-start it again. ADT planned to recover all money including that period to be cancelled due to the service failure. ADT were going back on their offer for poor service. ADT have found a new way to rob their customers, apologies, provide a monetary compensation then recover that money in future DD. How to make money.

Horrible customer service. Very condescending. They raised my rate and faulted me for not responding to the rate increase on time. I didn't know I had to protect my account from my 'security service'. I see they've paid corporates to write 5-star reviews for them. I now know who the real thieves are. Mazen, In response to your comment - Please don't concern yourself with my feelings. A better use of your time may be to focus on improving the POOR SERVICE adt is providing in every aspect of the business. Thanks!

Update on Coronavirus situation at my father house. I was told on 6 calls that a manager was going to call me it never happened. So I cancel my fathers order and sign him up on vivint and I’m about to get rid of them. They can try to cover up their lack of safety for customers but I’m not going to let this go unnoticed. I contact my local tv station and I’m contacting the national news to expose their poor practices. ADT is a company that is not about people it showed because my father is elderly and black you think it’s ok what your technician did! He could have endangered my father and my life! Unacceptable !!!!

Wow...terrible service even for a…
Wow...terrible service even for a potential NEW customer. I tried to call them several times. Finally got through, they give me a quote. I asked for a callback...never called me back. The next time i had 3 hours to burn...i tried again. After 4 attempts, finally got a "full voicemail" and they hung up on me. Then, i completed the online form. A lady called me, only 4 hours later, and told me i had to talk to the first guy. I asked her to leave him a message to call me back...5 days later...still no call. ADT DO YOU NOT WANT MY MONEY??..

DO NOT waste your time talking to ADT Security. THEY do NOT .. follow thru with APPROVED customers. They make you WAIT a Month BEFORE they decide IF you fit their standards SIGHT UNSEEN & AFTER they HAVE inquired on your Credit Report WHICH lowers your score And told you that you're APPROVED for financing. Tells me there IS POOR MGMT at THE TOP & AND Understaffed, UNTRAINED employees. IT LOWERED my Credit Score AND cost me a MONTH of WAITING for services I WAS APPROVED FOR ... but NEVER received. We're not coming

I was searching for Security System for my home and ADT popped up during my search, I should have passed, yes this conpany has been in Buss since ??????? that's a lot of years of ripping off customer's if ADT is SOOOOO GREAT!! then why STICK or STUCK customer's with a 36 MONTH CONTRACT!!!!! that's like buying a car, keep in mind it will cost you to CANCEL!! you only have 3 DAYS to change your mind AT NO COST!!but they won't tell you that. for anyone looking for home security think three times before you choosing ADT!!!!I WISH I DID!!!!but we learn from our mistakes,but if you decide to try ADT when the tech comes to your house with all that CREDIT????? make sue you get what YOU NEED NOT WHAT THEY WANT TO SELL YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do not sign a long-term contract
No matter what you do, try not to sign a 3-year contract with them for ADT services. They send their salespeople to new house buyers since they are more likely to buy security services due to their concerns for their new house. Unfortunately, I signed a 3-year contract with ADT in 2017 and ended up not liking their system, but they showed zero flexibility in terminating the contract early (very large penalty to terminate early). Try it for a few month with NO LONG-TERM CONTRACT and if you liked it then get into a contract.

Before you sign up with any alarm monitoring company check your options!
We have been an ADT customer for many years. I was recently made aware of other “alarm monitoring companies”. Long story short...ADT was going to charge us over $900.00 a year for alarm monitoring and “other benefits”. We have never had equipment issues which cover the charge for “other benefits”. I investigated other companies and found a highly rated company, we switched to them, which charges less than $200.00 a year. DO YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE YOU SIGN UP WITH ADT!
