I have been getting billed for two accounts now for the same address for over a year. No one bothered to cancel my old account when they talked me into upgrading. Trying to get a hold of someone in "Account Management" to straighten this out is absolutely ridiculous. Costumer service is the absolute worse.
ADT Customer service SUCKS
ADT Customer service SUCKS! They said a supervisor would call me. He never did. They have my CC and do bill me. But not the entire bill then they say I am delinquent. They don't have support email where you can write and express their concerns. I will pay off then cancel them all together. Their phone support sucks to.
Waste of money
I tried to get in contact with someone at ADT for 4 days and it was impossible!
Due to not being able to connect with anyone at ADT I decided to unplug my ADT system at home. Five days passed with unplugged/disconnected system and still no one from ADT contacted me. I am really not sure why I was paying around $59 for monitoring when they did not even notice that my system was disconnected. The service sucks for sure!

Terrible security company. I had 2 terribly scary experiences with ADT at my primary residence in the past 18 months. Both were alarm situations, but which were resolved quickly on the premises and did not need police response. However, calling in to ADT I was put on hold for over one hour! ("The next representative ... will be avaiable in 65 minutes.") And the ADT text message response system was not working correctly. Because of their failures to respond in a timely manner and allow me to cancel the alarm, I was charged with 2 false alarm fines by my local police department. This was entirely ADT's fault. But what would happen if it was an actual emergency and I needed to reach ADT quickly? Isn't that what I am paying for? After that experience, I tried to cancel ADT, but ended up being charged for 2 months after I canceled the service. I am still trying to resolve this issue, to ensure that my ADT service is cancelled, and that I get a refund for the 2 months of service after my cancel date.

I have been trying to cancel my service for weeks without any luck! I keep getting transferred and put on unimaginably long holds. My system has not worked for months and I can’t even cancel it! ADT IS A SCAM! AVOID AT ALL COST.
Cannot contact ADT for any reason
We just DIY-installed ADT, cams etc, with many unpleasant surprise$$. 1) didn't receive current "discounts" (bc of DIY installation)... 2) charges for hardware appeared on my creditcard; the next day monthly bill charge shows "rejected"; no explanation ... 3) TODAY I spent 5 HOURS on the phone trying to find out status of my account: called 8-10 different phone numbers (agents via chat, call back/hang-up on me, gave different answers, each time given different number to call.)
THEN I called to CANCEL (on hold for 45 minutes). I finally reached yet another Acct Mgr (who couldn't help me) and I gave up. I will be calling 1st thing tomorrow to CANCEL. IT'S NOT WORTH THE TROUBLE. Here's my issue: If it takes >5 hours to get info on my account, I don't think ADT can be trusted for any monitoring!!!

They have charged my account twice and when I called to find the problem I did not get a straight forward answer. I was on the phone with 4 different people and got different answers. Still have not seen my money.
Fix your support and be kind, human and understanding to customers
Being a small business requires management to take care of setup and administrate the system. We are losing an awful lot of time just pending in loops. The call back system has not been efficient and agents appeared to be exhausted and unfriendly at times. Basic Tier3 inquiries were handled impatiently and kept being unresolved over long periods of time, creating a direct loss of control over our assets. The fact that we are told to be valid customers seems utterly sarcastic in that context and makes you feel even more powerless against the latent ignorance and factual absence of those support teams. It cant be considered an outstanding merit to ensure that electronic equipment is doing what it's supposed to do. You really want to make a difference - fix your support and be kind, human and understanding to customers. For now, ADT is not.

My Employer 24-7 intouch hacked my home security system and repeatedly took my ADT Ring Camera off-line. Not wanting to continue paying for a security service that offers no security I opted to close my ADT account and purchase a private security system. ADT then refused to assist me with cancelling my account, I was transferred around and on hold for over three hours and twice was hung up on. I finally cancelled the account on Tuesday, August first of 2023. The ADT employee told my that it takes 30 days to cancel an account so ADT can continue to bill you once your account has been closed. The ADT employee was informed that I had fulfilled my contract and wanted my account cancelled immediately. ADT has no legal right to bill for services not being provided.

I am a current ADT customer I have been with the company for the past 3yrs. I've have had several runs in with this company over the years, 1 they broke my doorbell while trying to install my door camera, they said they couldn't find the the transformer for the bell this is the reason they stated they couldn't fix it. 2 my cameras never pickup on moving objects in real time? 3 They recently took money out of my account unauthorized for three months of payments in advance, this was not agreed upon by me the first time I knew about it is when the money was gone out of my account. what makes this whole thing even more upsetting is that they were the one's who reach out to me to see if I would like to continue to receive their service at a lower price for the next 3yrs and they even told me I could choose a date when the funds would be withdrawn from my account. I agreed not knowing that they would charge me a prorated fee for changing my due date as well as charge me three month's in advance for agreeing to remain with their company. You just cant make this stuff up these people think people are stupid or crazy, but I'm not neither I told them I wanted my refund asap! they have been giving me the run around talking about the computer did it and they cant change the transaction. I ask to speak with a supervisor and was told all the supervisor are in meetings and would give me a call back. To say I am upset would be putting it lightly I am very very upset. Oh! I forgot to mention their customer service sucks they keep you on hold forever and can never seem to solve the problem when they finally answer your call. Actually one star is one star too many if I could give them 0 stars I would.

ADT moving mess
I signed a three year contract with ADT. After a year and a half I got a job in another state. I called and was told I would pay almost $900 to cancel the service, or I could transfer it for no charge. I chose to transfer it. I called again with my new address and the young man told me I should switch to ADT+, the mobile service. I would have to sign a new contract for 24 months, but it would still be a transfer of service so I wouldn’t be charged. I agreed.
Then I was charged for both accounts. I called again and was told my original service had not been ended. The woman I spoke to told me she would fix it and I would get a refund of the double charge.
Today I got a bill for $900 for canceling my service! I called again and was told I would have to call back and talk to an account manager! This company is a mess! They cannot seem to get it right. Hoping they can fix their issues.
Rubbish
Rubbish, they bought out Ackerman Alarm Systems, never told us and all of a sudden our alarm stop working and camera stop working. Everytime I call them they hang up. Poor service I just want to get out, but they don't answer. Hate this!
ADT customer service is horrible
ADT customer service is horrible. They have been taking money from my account even though we no longer own our house and the ADT account was transferred to the new homeowners. The transfer was done with the local Raleigh, NC office and the sales manager told me to contact her if there any problems but of course she doesn’t respond.
Do not use ADT. They are horrible in all areas and steal your money!

I would give minus stars if I could. This is the worst customer experience with any company I have ever had in my entire life I’ve called, used chat bot, live chat and have gotten nothing but the runaround. I first contacted ADT about 8:30 this morning and after a series of calls that were mysteriously disconnected or transferred or were the wrong department, I’m still on hold and have gotten absolutely nowhere. It is now 3:03 in the afternoon. I switched to ADT as Google will no longer support nest security system soon. I took advantage of their offer of free equipment, and free monitoring for a year with a monthly fee of $19.99 thereafter. I got all of my self set up equipment a few weeks ago or so, downloaded the ADT+ app and got everything set up. I had to call to get the app out of “practice mode”. It was supposed to automatically switch to pro monitoring and out of practice mode after 7 days. It did not. That was pretty painless actually. Next I had to call ADT to have my nest Aware subscription transferred to them from Google nest. I spent about 4 hours on the phone and in chat to try and resolve this to no avail. I was bounced around from here to there and everyone I spoke with either didn’t understand the issues or couldn’t help me. In the process I was asked to unlink accounts which thoroughly messed things up and I could not get them re-linked. FINALLY found someone who could help. Got the app back on track but due to the late time of day I could no longer get in touch with account services. Account services I was told was who I needed to speak to to switch my existing nest Aware account to ADT. Hence my call this morning. I told them that after everything I’d been through, it was their last chance to keep me as a customer. Such incompetence! I was told that ADT could not help me and I would have to contact Google nest. I clearly see in the ADT+ app where it instructs the user to contact ADT for this. It may have been a good idea for Google to invest so much money into ADT but they are clearly not ready to handle the pairing of ADT and Google yet. Very disappointing. So by 9:00 this morning I was done with ADT and have waited now about 6 and a half hours to stop my service and close my account. I keep calling acct services as instructed. As mentioned the calls end suspiciously or I get transferred and put on hold after my account is verified. My equipment has been disconnected and is literally in the trash. ADT has been unlinked from my Google acct. I’m still on hold………
Shame on you Google and super shame on you ADT!
After the reply from ADT…..my equipment remains in the garbage, my service has ended and my account has been closed.

ADT are quick to send your info to collection agency. Ended service after my contract was done ADT even said twice I owed nothing but three months later collection agency said I owed 399.28 Nothing was ever sent from ADT email or mail. Account paid 399.28 on July 31 2023 confirmation 87246406 and also paid Virtuoso Sourcing Group confirmation 64200190 299.46 on July 29 2023 on account 320015205 with Navy Federal Credit Union 100 percent disabled veteran and I used up every extra money to pay them twice to clear up ADT miscommunication.

It seems I am not the only one unable to get customer support. They keep you on hold for hours and terminate the call no one answers. This company truly a nightmare. My system has not worked since January. Have tried multiple times to contact them to get it fix unable to reach anyone multiple attempts. Now I want to be done with them get their equipment out of my house. I was forced to contact bbb to resolve the issues. Still no response from anyone. I went into my app to once again try to contact them found my app locked guess they heard from bbb. Went to call still no luck. Do not use ADT. They truly are a nightmare. There should be a class action sued against them. They still charge my cc for a service I not getting. It’s now July going into August.
ADT is a trap! Do not sign up with them!
ADT is a large company that seems to build off customer traps! What company locks you in with no grace period to assess the service and product? ADT! Do not sign up with them. Use SIMPLY Safe or a non contract security company. I am extremely disappointed in the lack of ADT ethics and customer consideration.
Not worth it
Had an ADT security monitoring system with a 3 year contract. Needed to get cameras installed. Most expensive of the options I looked at but was easier since I already had some of the equipment. Added 2 cameras. Front camera worked for less than 2 months. They want to charge me a $60 service charge to figure out why. My ring camera is considerably more reliable. Video quality of the camera at night is too dark to tell what the camera is picking up and it regularily misses motion from people walking. Defeats the point of having security cameras. Between monthly monitering fees, buying 2 cameras and 1 monitor I pay $135 a month. The most expensive option for questionable quality and security.
Infuriating Lack of Customer Support/Over 2 Hrs on Hold
Had ADT monitoring on our home for twenty two
years. Sold the house today and wanted to terminate the service (and our paid in advance yearly contract) effective today. Called ADT at 4:30 DST and after a frustrating auto greeting delay, reached a person who advised this service is only available through a certain department and I was transferred. New auto greeting advised up to a 50 minute delay to reach a rep... gave up and hung up at 55 minutes, assuming I could use the web site when I got back to the laptop. Chatting on the website resulted in being advised this service is only available by calling the following number, available until 10 PM EST M-F. After thanking the agent for his assistance, called the number and spent an hour and five minutes on hold at which point the call terminated. Will try again, but unbelievable...
Unreal
Unreal, nobody answers the phone, some AI thing doesn't comprehend chat, GOOGLE sent me to this NIGHTMARE for free service for a year, now I am being BILLED for monthly service. Absolutely unintelligent customer service. They BARELY speak ENGLISH.
Update 8/2/2023: to all GOOGLE Nest customers that receive a letter to move to ADT. This ADT company is not one that I would trust to guard my residence. I keep getting multiple hardware sensor errors stating the sensor has been tampered with. I called ADT and they said they would not replace the sensor. It's brand new! and It is obviously defective! I did ask to speak to a manager and apparently, there is NONE. Additionally, this ADT+ that GOOGLE sends you to is not even part of ADT so you have to go thru a lengthy explanation every time you call.
Also, this complaint forum seems to be the only way that ANYONE at this ADT company will respond to issues.

I have been trying for months to get my camera fixed and serviced. No response or help. I have tried to cancel for several weeks. They automatically put you on a 30 minute hold but it is realistically over an hour. I feel like this is done on purpose so customers would hang up.
ADT charging despite ac cancellation
When I moved to a new house in 2019, I transferred my ADT home security service to my new home and canceled my old account. Four years later, I found out that they either did not cancel my account as requested or just decide to auto debit payment every month for the last 4 years. If I hadn’t not noticed double charges (for both old and new address) from ADT on my bank account last month, I guess they would have charged me indefinitely! What a shame! And now they are giving me very hard time when asked for refund; they agree to refund only 18 months instead of 48 months of overpayment.
I reported them to BBB, but they still wouldn’t give back the money they owe me. I canceled my current a/c with them. I hope they don’t come back in 4 years and tell me I never canceled my a/c again. I am disgusted by the unprofessionalism of this company. Anyone reading this, please do yourself a favor and stay away from this scam company.
Also, please do not be fooled to think that ADT cares or has resolved the issue when you see ADT reply under reviews telling customers to report their concern.
I had called just to get a price quote
I had called just to get a price quote. The gentleman convinced me that we could get everything and try it out for 30 days and nothing will be charged. Which we did. We got charged two different times within the first two weeks. The equipment was a lot more extensive and required drilling into walls, which he had explained to be simply peel and stick equipment. When I tried to call to cancel it took two days and close to 2 hours to get the right human body on the phone to actually cancel our membership. Based on my personal experience I could not recommend them to anybody. They were not honest and it was extremely hard to cancel.
