We have been without a fully working…
We have been without a fully working alarm system for weeks. We have been promised an engineer visit 4 times but no one turns up and no contact from ADT. Every time I chase them I’m told that we are on the list for that day. I even received an email from them saying that they had closed the case as the issue had been resolved - How, with no visit and it still wasn’t working! We are starting to look at other companies. We went with ADT as they are a well known company. Perhaps they used to be good - not anymore! I’d advise to keep well clear! ***UPDATE**** contacted them with the required details as per their response - still no engineer and still no contact from them or the engineer saying when they will come out to us. We have been ‘on the engineers list for today’ every day that I call! Incredibly bad service.

Horrible service
This is the most horrible company. I have not been able to cancel my service for three days! I have been forced on long hold times and no one else can do it but one department. I finally get someone and they hung up on me. I have been with them for 16 years and their way of recording if they check if your system is operational is to leave a recorded voice mail to say call them about your system. They check nothing and keep erroneous records to say their system is working. BUYER BEWARE to not trust them.

Hate hate hate this company with a passion! All they care about is scamming their clients out of as many pennies as possible. One of the worst businesses I’ve ever worked with. They are worse than AT&T in customer service. Do NOT trust them with your information. They will make up ways to take your money.

I wish I can give 0 stars. I’ve been an ADT customer for over 30 years. (Since they were Holmes Security) The devolved into one of the worst companies one can deal with. Nobody picks up the phone, unless you wait 1-2 hours on hold. Then when you finally get a person on the phone they are clueless! They sneak in crazy increases that make them double the price of the competition, then when you try to cancel, they promise a reduction that they don’t give. They are HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!

WORST SECURITY COMPANY EVER I will…
Worst security company ever I will never recommend them to anyone I recently purchased a plan with them I first did not get the $100 gift card that they are promoting if you start service with the company I asked the representative about it she told me the $100 was credited to my account to make my equipment cheaper so I said ok 2 days after me paying $55 to get the service started they tell me my first month bill is due shortly after that I received a email saying I needed to pay Memphis a extra $30 to have my equipment monitored they don't tell you any of this when getting started so I then get the product the battery pack on my back door camera keeps saying that it's dead it stops recording every night about 11:00 pm and doesn't record or pick anything else up until the next morning when I call ADT and when I do speak to someone they act as if they dont understand or that the battery needs to be replaced NO THAT STUFF JUST DON'T WORK these ppl are a rip off and a waste of time DO NOT USE ADT SECURITY.

Horrible bait and switch
Horrible bait and switch. Charged us 4 times the amount that was promised to us. $2,500 installation fee. DO NOT use them. They will tell you one thing and do something totally different. We got screwed big time. And I’ve noticed that when u write a review the ADT is the same comment. All they want is your money and that’s it.

ADT WILL NOT RELEASE MY SYSTEM
After cancelling my account, and despite spending hours, literally hours, on the telephone with ADT over many days, three different alarm companies report that ADT still has not released my Honeywell Lyric system's MAC address from the alarmnet360.com system. So when they go to establish service, the alarmnet360 system replies "programmed to a different alarm reporting number" or "not authorized for device". This is DESPITE having ADT confirm multiple times and swear up and down that they have released the system. One of the national alarm companies reported this happens with ADT very often. I'm beginning to believe no company can be this incompetent and that this must be a deceptive business practice. This post is my last communication with ADT. If they read this and can look up how long I've spent trying to solve this issue and cannot or will not do so, then my next stop is FTC and a consult with my class action attorney.

I'd give 0 stars if it were an option. - Customer support is non-existant. Was transferred 3 times with a 15min hold time on each transfer to get new batteries for a lock. No one was able to resolve the issue and no one was able to confirm how I could resolve it myself - All customer service people seem to have a window of conversation before they transfer you, was never able to stay on with someone for more then 3 minutes before being transfered to a random department, and the new person was never given the details of the previous conversation so it was a loop of the same conversation endlessly before being transferred again - Email correspondance was happening simultaneously. Despite paying for the entire service I was informed there are call out fees to assess and to fix problems, despite paying for the service and maintenance of the system. I reviewed the contract and it turns out the indemnity and warranty clauses are solely provided to make sure ADT gets paid regardless of what happens to me, my system, my home or my family. The liability is not shared even slightly and their sole focus is extracting as much money as possible while doing as little customer service as possible - For anyone who wasn't aware, the contracts have auto-renew clauses, so when your term is up, they will continue billing you forever unless you specifically tell them not to AND do it more than 30 days before a billing cycle, meaning they will take a month or 2 additional from you if you don't cancel more than a month before the end of your contract Overall, I would be the exact same level of safe with a mechanical deadbolt and a trip wire based on the service they have and continue to provide - or rather not provide. And they are free to increases prices at will after the initial 12 months of the arbitrarily long 3 year agreement regardless of any short comings on their end. If you have literally any other service available to you, avoid ADT. If I were able to, I would cancel my contract today, but unfortunately that would mean I give them the same amount of money without the bare minimum 'we can call the cops if your alarm goes off for more than 5 minutes in the dead of night' service.

Three years of inconsistent service…
Three years of inconsistent service with cctv and alarm system, tricked into renewing when I complained and then finally gave notice this November to end contract just as the price was increased. Spoke with someone in retentions team who assured me it would be actioned and they are still in invoicing me for a cancelled service (which has been non operational anyway) plus a maintenance fee dec-Jan! Despicable service from start to finish

Well this is the second time I am…
Well this is the second time I am writing a review of ADT. I suppose when I signed up they gave me the worst equipment that they have. So far I have had to replace the extender that they gave me which never worked ( Bought an EERO wire mesh whole house system over $300 ). Then the doorbell was replaced after months of complaining and even the tech told me how bad the equipment was. I just had the front drive camera replaced due to low quality and water intrusion and it had been out since September ( of course while I was out of town ). Today after realizing how truly bad my back camera is, I called to see if it could be replaced due to terrible quality and it picks up every car that goes by my home and I live on a heavily traveled road so my camera is recording allllll the time. They again gave me a hard time. I have a virtual call in tomorrow to reset my cameras recording area but it will still be the same crappy camera I have now. I really don't know how they are still in business. Their customer service is TERRIBLE. ( Not the people you talk to they can't really help you they just make appointments ) The techs are great everyone that I have had in my home has been great. I guess I will be looking for a new security system soon my contract is up in March.

I have been with ADT for a long time about 17 years...the service used to be well maintained and serviced regularly. todays ADT is a completely different story . No one comes out to service the system which leads to constant failures. the last failure was the icing on the cake ( one of over 10 this year alone. my alarm keeps acivating . it cannot be cancelled locally it does not even show up on the panel.Adt after several calls and hours hanging on the phone said they would send someone out. on one occasion the operator asked me if i could go somewhere quieter as she could not stand the alarm in the background...living with it going off for 30 mins a time until it stopped was a nightmare. After 4 aborted calls ( 4 days waiting for them and they did not turm up) i gave up the problem still persists and no service at all from ADT. the last fault was 6 appointments missed until they eventually came out. to add insult to injury i received a letter telling me they were putting up my monthly cost again . they should be exposed to the general public. their organization is totally dysfunctional.

ADT is the worse
No one ever comes out or even calls to provide feedback. I already left a bad review and thought they would improve from there. Any recommendations for a better company in the Kenilworth area would be highly appreciated. They don't take safety seriously at all.

Worst security company The system was installed and half ass…
Thesystem was installed and half ass worked. It never worked without being in cellular failure. They sent out several different techs but none of them ever brought what they recommend to repair the problem. The area service manager told me they were not going to fix it. This company didn't mind taking my payment every month and lied to me. They will never be recommended by me.they charged 53.99 a month after I paid for installation.

HORRIBLE SERVICE! I have had them since 2002 and have been a loyal customer, even upgrading to a camera and alarm system. But when something went wrong---very wrong---I was hung up on 4 times after being on hold for 45 minutes (4 separate times) today. When I finally did get through on the 5th time I was treated with absolute disdain, "transferred" to "service appointments" (which is what I was waiting for) and hung up on AGAIN. All I wanted to do was make an appointment. I just ordered a new security system. Now I hope I can get through to cancel this service!! EDITED: And they managed to make it worse. (I paid for the privilege). They responded to this review with one of these generic responses so I gave them the opportunity to fix it. A tech came out but didn’t want to stick around when I told him the cameras weren’t recording. When I told the “fixers” my system was not working they had the NERVE to refer me back to the “immediate assistance” line with a 47 minute wait where I was hung up on 4 times before (prompting the original review). This company should be investigated. I will report them to whoever I can find (is BBB still a thing?) and write as many bad reviews as possible. It’s all I can do.

ADT is useless
ADT is useless. Its sad - supposed to be protecting families but their equipment is faulty, their sales team is full of crooks. Actual crooks that lie and con. We've had them for three months, THREE months and I can't tell you how many times I've called since then because equipment doesn't work. The first call was literally 2 days after installment. I should've known then and broke the agreement. I can't even begin to list all of the issues. This company SUCKS and do not have your best interest in mind. They are crooks. Never seen anything like it.

Painfully bad: On the phone now practically begging…
On the phone now practically begging them to finish. Spent hours already trying to buy their device. One no show, one show up with the wrong sensors. Hours spent asking for the right sensors. Now trying again just to finish the job. It is so painful to buy this service! This company will cost you time and money.

Had AT&T for about 2 and 1/2 years
Had AT&T for about 2 and 1/2 years. I can honestly say the camera system they installed did not operate as promised. They offer no support for it. And the installers actually cut connectors out of the camera that they were not supposed to cut. Leaving me with a camera system that I cannot use effectively. They offered no solution to this. Additionally I've had trouble security that monitors the window switches door switches Etc. The panel stopped working after a while only communicating via internet and not their claim to fame Cellular Connection. So if I lose power and home internet their system fails to monitor my home. All of a sudden today I get a notification that I've got I'm bad or missing battery but it doesn't tell me what battery even though I looked at all my monitored devices. And a new monitoring company named Residio just started monitoring our system. Who the heck is Residio is it an American company? I received no notification that they were changing monitoring companies. I would not choose ADT again for my home protection service. Also when I called service to resolve some issues it took forever and I felt like I was talking to a fifth grader that failed 5th grade. Finally I was able to talk to someone after much much trouble that seemed to be able to help me. I don't know if I can count on this system.

Customer service sucks
Customer service sucks. My ADT system is not recording as it should, and I can't get anyone in customer service who cares enough to help me. Really disappointed that I went with ADT. They used to be a really good company back in the 90's but now I am highly disappointed that I choose them.

Charged me almost $200 to come and…
Charged me almost $200 to come and reset my wifi password on my camera because my pw on my router had changed. Then 3 days later the camera wouldn't connect at all and they said they would come for free to take a look. They came and reconnected it (who knows why it suddenly quit working) and left. Then I look at my bank card and they charged me $59 again for this "trip charge". My camera NEVER works, and if it does function it is so grainy it isn't worth looking at anyway. Also, the 3 year commitment to sign up is absolutely ridiculous. I have had nothing but problems the last 3 years, I cannot wait to cancel!

Absolutely atrocious customer service
Absolutely atrocious customer service. A couple of months ago they needed to fix the camera - took three cancelled appointments before they finally arrived and then it took two to work out the technology on the new camera. Today should have had an appointment beween 1pm and 5pm phoned ADT this morning to ensure visit was going ahead - they said it was. At 16.45pm called ADT to ask where the engineer was to be told unfortunately the appointment had to be cancelled - if I had not phoned - no one would have informed me. Time is money I could have been at my granddaughter's nativity play today - I am fuming - all family and friends I will advise to check out Verisure and once my contract is finished I am off. Right now I have a substandard alarm and no appointment to put it right and I am paying for this - I am beyond angry

Worse Decision Ever Made...
we had adt for a couple of years or so and mostly it was "ok". the cameras were decent enough (although expensive and they had no audio options). Their app is another story...it would work off and on, always had to call in to see what was wrong and it was always a "well that's odd.." and once or twice it was a "oh yeah we don't use that app anymore"... The icing on the cake was that we had a house fire at the beginning of the year...we called 911 and thankfully we all got out and are all ok. First problem is we never got any alert from ADT, no phone call when the alarms went off. Second problem is we called to let them know we would not have a house for quiet some time while we were getting ready to rebuild and all of that. They expected us to pay for service we were not receiving. remembering that the equipment is all paid for up front...we owned that so that was just a loss. They expected us to pay for monitoring services that were impossible for us to receive as we even currently have no house. on top of all this, their "customer service" is the by far non-existent. My wife was told "oh we are so sorry you had a house fire but your locked into a contract and there's nothing we can do." On a different call she was told "oh no, your not under any contract, let me transfer you to someone who can get this resolved...." The person she was transferred2 to says "oh yeah, no, you are under a contract and it has to be paid in full.". We had intended to use them once we rebuilt so they could have paused our contract until we got into our new house. This was only when they did not hang up on her. We were never trying to back out of anything, we had a tragic house fire, lost everything, and literally have had no way to use their "service". The last person she spoke to said we could pay out the contract over 6 months....then we immediately got a call from a collection agency. They are the biggest regret we have in all of our choices of service for anything.

We moved into our new house at the…
We moved into our new house at the beginning of 11/2022. There was an ADT doorhanger in the home and previous equipment so we called to get information and were contacted by Hunter with ADT to begin service. A man showed up and introduced himself as ADT and we signed a contract with them and a tech came out to install. At that time Hunter reached back out to us and advised that this person was not with ADT directly but with a company called Revamp Security. Hunter had the tech uninstall what had been installed and got the contract with Revamp cancelled and created a new contract with us and then scheduled a tech to install. The tech came out and was on his phone the whole time talking on a personal call. He did not complete the installation and at one point installed some of the equipment incorrectly which caused my garage door opener and multiple plugs to stop working. His explanation was "I didn't do it", however, I have a certified electrician receipt of repair stating that the equipment install caused the issue. We tried to get ADT to repair their error and complete the install but met with transfer to different departments who only left messages for others to call and they never did. Corporate also ignored our request for call back. I still have the equipment because NOBODY will call us to advise where to send it. Now we are being told we will have to pay cancellation charges because we waited too long. I'm sorry, what? WE HAVE TRIED for over a month with multiple calls and hours of my time to get this resolved and ADT is playing us by ignoring us. I am NOT paying a company who I feel tried to scam us. Sad that a company in the business to protect is actually preying on people.
