Refusal to cancel my service
I called in May to cancel my service because I was moving. I was told my service was canceled and there is nothing else I need to do. I had a long conversation with the rep about football and being a Tampa fan and him trying to talk me into keeping my service. I did not want to keep it because I was moving and I was hoping my new area would have a different alarm system company I could go with.
I received a call at the end of June letting me know that I was 2 months behind paying for my service. I tried to tell the rep who called that I canceled back in May and was told there was no record of my call. Convent that I can recall the conversation with the rep and the length of time I was on the phone but they have no record of my call...
I have tried to contact ADT on 5 different occasions. VIA phone and chat. On one call I was on the phone almost 2 hours and transferred 8 times and then hung up on. I am still paying for service on a home I do not own and all I get is transferred and the run around. I have asked for supervisors to call me, I have put my number on hold call backs because the length of the hold times and I still have not been able to cancel. If I do not hear back I will contact the BBB and anyone else I need to in order to have them cancel my service. The kicker is, I didn't even get an account with ADT. I hate this company. I was with Akerman and without notifying me or given the option to drop my service, my account was sold to ADT. I recently learned that ADT pays their reps higher salary based on being able to obtain and keep customers and lower if they lose customers. Maybe if this was not their practice, I would not have this issue. I want my service canceled and a 3 month refund.
I set up a repair appointment a week ahead
I set up a repair appointment a week ahead. This is at my second home. Called the day before and confirmed app.. Got up at 4 am and drove to the house as to be there for app. 8 to 12 noon. At 12 I got an email saying he left at 10:08 on way, That tells me nothing! Got on phone with rep and see said they can't locate him. after a while I get a call from ADT girl said he was at my gate- no pryor call. I go down to my gate- nobody. I sit there for 30 min started to leave and ADT van pulls in. I stand ther and wait. Finally I walk up to window, nothing happens. I tap on window Brian cracks window 1". I said sir are you going to say hi- nothing. I ask him why he is late and why didn't you give an arrival time or at least call 30 minutes ahead like standard. No answer. I said well nice conversation let me open gate and get you to work. I turned walked to gate and he backs out and leaves. I have not heard back from ADT even tho I called and talked to a supervisor and was promised someone there before 7 that evening. That didn't happen. I have never heard back from ADT. What a bunch of none caring jerks. THe boys name is Brian Patterson he should be fired along with the supervisor that set up the last app. that didn't happen

Alarm services missing information.
We recently acquired an alarm system with ADT. We were excited at first. My husband is a veteran and we used the USAA site that recommended ADT as one of their connections. The ADT site stated that we would get a small discount and a $100 gift card if we sided up for an alarm with ADT. After the completion of the project, I asked Mr. Chad Gilliland the salesman about when would we get the card and he stated 7-10 days. After a month or more, I called ADT about the card and the corporate office stated that they would send the card. Now, July, 2023, nothing has arrived. We feel that the advisement by ADT was not correct. They should not treat Veterans like this or they should not use certain points for encouraging people to purchase services.

Bad service. Lies. Stuck with something we don't want.
I will be honest. My father has had adt, vivint, and now ring. I didn't know which one I should go with. An adt salesman showed up 2 days ago and talked us into a 56 dollar plan. And said there's also a 100 dollar activation fee but no money today. After he left we checked the bank account and they took out 100. Then we decided to see what the technician is gonna do for us. He's not a technician. He's another salesman. You keep the original plan and add onto it. He pulled out all kobe of things you can upgrade. And it gets so confusing. Some things you buy with points. Other things you buy and you get lives fire them. Utried very hard to follow. Ours went up to 64 dollars a month. My fiance and I are very frustrated that we were lied to and almost bullied into getting some of the products we really didn't need. We decided we wanted to cancel but they were closed. They give you 3 days and they're closed for 2 days.

I have had an awful experience from the start. They get my money each month. Their agents have not been helpful to me at all. Some have been beyond terrible and not helpful one bit to me. I have spent over 2 hours today. The first agent took no notes apparently. 2nd agent made me go through the same troubleshooting steps without listening to me, I asked for a service technician to come (and they charge for it), but we had to troubleshoot again. Agent finally scheduled the appointment 2 hours later in one day. I received an email my appointment for tomorrow has been cancelled! They charge fir the service appointments so I do not understand why it’s almost impossible to book an appointment when nothing solves the issue w the system. I am beyond words. It has been extremely poor experience for me with ADT .. I have to call tomorrow again for the same reason and the same issue with their system. This is very frustrating.
Beware ADT Sucks
Beware ADT Sucks. They installed a system that never worked from the start. Put you in a contract to were you can't cancel without being penalized. Call for help and nobody that works for ADT know what they are doing and can help. Any want to charge more money to have a tech come out and fix what did't work from the beginning. On top of the monthly payments. What is this world coming too. One very very very pissed off customer.

I have spent over 8 hours on the phone back and forth just trying to get refunded for the service I didn’t even have for 4 hours! I cancelled immediately as soon as I realized it wasn’t going to work in my house. It has been absolute HELL! All I get when I call is “I am the manager and I’m not giving you my bosses name”! Never again! They say “we are almost to the finish line” it’s ridiculous!
Had app set up weeks ahead
Had app set up weeks ahead. Drove 3 1/2 hrs to my Mtn property to be there. App set 8 to 10. Got a email at 10 saying on his way. That tells me nothing, stayed on phone with ADT, they couldn’t find him? Finally at 1:40 girl told me he was at my gate. I shoo t down- nobody there. I wait 40 min, as I’m leaving- he pulls in. I just waited he didnt speak- wave nothing. I walk to the side of his car. I tap on window he cracks glass about an inch. He won’t talk to me- said his phone didn’t work. I dialed adt on speaker and they answer. He still won’t talk! I say well come on and lets get to work. I start opening gate, he backs out and leaves!!! Brian Patterson. Called adt guy said he explained it to supervisior and service guy would be out later that day. Never seen anyone- never heard back. Its Thursday now. I will change all my acc with this company that doesn’t care and file against Brian Patterson- sorryest service guy ever, what a rude crude person. Would you want that guy to have your info and be in your house

I had an appointment for today July…
I had an appointment for today July 12,2023 from 12-4 to fix a camera and doorbell that just stopped working. I called over a week ago for this appointment. Well I waited until 330 pm and called to see where tech was and make sure he was still coming. Operator tells me yes tech is behind as he ran into a problem on another job ok it happens so change my time to 5-8. Half hour later I receive a call from dispatch telling me tech is backed up and he would like to reschedule I said no I took a day off from work and I am here, she says ok I will let him know that he can still come and you are home. I looked on my app and see that appointment is blank so I call again and I am told he is not coming at all today. Nice job not to even call and advise me after losing a days pay. So manager tells me that she can reschedule me for the end of the month absolutely not as I am paying for these services that don’t work and after I told her I was thinking of canceling service and going elsewhere for my alarm she miraculously found an appointment for tomorrow between 12-4. Let’s see if they show!!!!
Stay away from ADT
Stay away from ADT. I have no idea how they even stay in business. It's going on 5 months for me and I have been double charged so much that I took auto pay off. The phone representatives have no idea what they're saying or how to explain anything. No one can find a solution and they just keep taking money from my account without any explanation. If I had of read these reviews before hand, I would have chosen another security company. I do NOT recommend ADT at all. They are horrible. Absolutely horrible.
I have been an ADT customer for 2.5…
I have been an ADT customer for 2.5 years. They have the worst customer service. The waiting time for any call is a range between 10-60 minutes. Over two days, I spent a total of 136 minutes waiting, talking, pushed over to different people, etc. They also kicked me out of the call after a long wait. Needless to say, they charged me for installing three detectors that were removed from the system 2 weeks after installation. Even though it was the fault of the installer technician. He decided to install CO, Heat, and Fire detectors in an open area that is so far away from the router. They did not detect signal and kept causing issues. Why do I need a CO detector in an open area? Two weeks after installation, a technician came (frustrated) he decided to remove them. And since, they did not reimburse me for the installation of those detectors. Also, in the past two years, the door/windows sensors had many issues. the sensors move with the doors movement and I had to call for technicians to fix them (with the same struggle over the phone). I am thinking seriously of terminating the contract, pay the penalty fees. So THINK 100 times before working with them
ADT is my worst nightmare
ADT is my worst nightmare. Their customer service is horrible, and no one seem to be able to solve your problem. Its like a dead end and you just have to pray that one day your contract will end so you can get rid of them. They have bad billing practices. They went into my account 5 times in one month. They told me they issue me a credit after overcharging my account and then they did not give the credit. I file a complain with BBB which was no help because they believe the lie ADT told them. I am so disgusted with them that I am going to pay off the equipment and break the contract if I can use the equipment with another company. They told me when I signed the contract that I did not need to pay any thing up front. One year later they billed my credit card for deposit fee.
NO SOLUTIONS EVER!!
ADT removed my existing wired door bell and install the battery Google Nest door bell and they even didn't install the transformer.
I can't hear the sounds inside the house when people ring the door bell, also I have to take out the battery door bell to get it charge in every few weeks. If they didn't remove my wired door bell, I don't have to charge the door bell frequently. It's very frustrating to charge the battery door bell and no transformer inside the house.
I have contacted ADT many times but no solutions. I was told that the higher manager will get back to me but never!! I need them to replace the battery door bell with the wired Google Nest door bell and install the transformer.
Stay away from ADT
We got ADT almost 2 yrs ago when we moved into our new build. During the initial installation the technician shorted our doorbell, he left the job not completed done. 3 other techs came, they were unsuccessful, the 3rd one left our doorbell wires exposed. Our doorbell is still not working to this day. We couldn't get out of the contract without hurting my credit. My bank account got compromised, so I took all my bills off auto. I was still paying my ADT monthly, last month I got an email saying my account is passed due and services will be disconnected. I contract ADT, told them about the issues I had will my bank account, that's why I went off autopay and if they can put me back on it. They no, because I was off autopay, they'll disconnect my service and I'll have to pay my balance of $1900 up front. Even though my account itself is up to-date on payment. I call another time, I was told the same, but this time the rep said I'll be charged additional $1500 for getting off autopay. This is ridiculous, we haven't had any good experience with ADT since the beginning. I regret ever signing a contract with them. Pls do NOT get ADT, they're the worst.
ADT has one sided contracts in their favor
ADT has improved some of the hardware that they deploy. However, they nickel-and-dime you for every little thing (e.g. main unit battery $30 - real value maybe $10) that's after a hefty monthly cost.
Most importantly, ADT has absolutely one sided contract. They lock you into a payment plan (24Months) where you will be penalized if you cancel, however, they reserve the right to hike the prices even during the contract period (lol!). They did so just now citing rising costs, with all the "happy" customers having no recourse.
Can't wait to tell everyone who asks whether or not (not!) they should get ADT, or ADT Solar that they keep pushing.
Borderline ADT harassment
Received a phone call a week ago from a local ADT Sales Rep, Galen Slade. He was looking for someone named Darren (not me, and I have never had any association with ADT or requested ADT services), Galen was pissed because I wouldn't give him my name (I'm hesitant to disclose my name because I've been scammed/harassed before), well Galen called me a "f'ing idiot" and then hung up on me.
Next day I get a call from ADT asking when I'll be available for in installation...again I tell them I am the wrong person, and the CS Rep says she'll take care of it.
Next day I get a call from the ADT installer saying he's at my house and he's wondering why I'm not home...again I tell him that I have no ADT relationship and I do not live wherever he happens to be.
Two days later I get a call/voicemail from Galen, again, telling me that he had heard there was trouble with my installation, and that he wants to connect with me to reschedule the appointment. I call him back, get his voicemail...again...explain that I have no ADT relationship...etc.
The next day I get a call FROM THE SAME CS WOMAN TRIED TO BOOK MY INSTALLATION...again...I tell her blah blah...
7/11/2023- I get a text messaging saying, "ADT added you to ADT Alarm Messenger TM "... so I call ADT Customer Service...explain everything again...they say they're gong to remove me from the dialer...blah blah

Avoid ADT
I got my ADT system in March of 2021, and the first week that I got my ADT security system, my home was entered a week later. ADT security system is hackable. My system was initially bypassed which means that a person can stop my system from notifying entry. Then my home panel was downloaded, and copied somehow. My hacker had a virtual panel, and he too had access to my control panel. Then my camera product information was copied, and downloaded, and therefore my perpetrator had a virtual camera and as the perpetrator would enter my home, he would first turn my camera into the wall away from my door, as to not be recorded. Then my ADT control app was hacked into, and here is where my video rules and notifications are set up, and that was completely hacked, and he'd change everything to where when he enters, my system does not notify, and lastly since my ADT control was hacked, the hacker blocked my phone from receiving text notifications, and lastly, because my ADT control was hacked into, the hacker is able to alter and delete my camera recording clips, as that is an option, although the company is not able to see your clips. My perpetrator breaks into my home several times a week, and ADT will not acknowledge that I need their help to go to the police with 2+ years of complaints of entry with a security system. ADT does not want to accept that their system is poor and hackable. I have 10 months left in this contract, and just think not only did they not release me from this contract, they have done absolutely nothing to help me with law enforcement. Don't choose this company, because you'll he disappointed like so many others.

I have been a customer with this company for well over 10 years. I have had trouble with my alarm for the past 6 months so I have made numerous calls asking for their help. The alarm gives a message low battery and device trouble. I have replaced the battery but I still get the same messages. Tech help could not find a fix and told me to call back in a week. So I called them today and got a consultant with a very bad attitude. I asked he to get a technician out to diagnose the issue but they want to charge me $94 to come out and I have been paying them $70 a month for at least the past 10 years never asking anyone to come out to check my alarm EVER! The woman in customer service told me to shut up and listen to her!!! So I asked her to transfer me to cancellations. as soon as I got transferred I got the message there is a 94 minute wait. Why on earth should I have to wait this long to get a cancellation. ADT is a TERRIBLE COMPANY !!! If you think there have good service just wait when you need them to fix a problem that is theirs. I will never use them again!
Horrible customer service!
I had ADT come out to my parents new house and the sales person was very nice but couldn’t get the wireless system to work and after we waited a full month to receive a second one, it didn’t work either, so we decided to cancel ADT all together. I called 3 different numbers and was on the phone for 2 hours with each number trying to get the right person on the phone (so don’t respond to this review with a number to call b/c none of them will put you through to someone that can cancel the service or give my parents back their $300 they paid to start services. Also they took money out monthly for 3 months for a system that didn’t work. My parents called their bank and finally got the monthly charges stopped but we still haven’t receive the $300 or the 3 monthly charges back. This is THE WORST customer service I have ever received and will never recommend ADT to anyone else ever again. I can’t even count how many people it talked that said “I am going to help you with this” and nothing was done.
Canceling my service once the contract is up
Wow. From the rude representatives to being transferred without warning it’s incredibly incompetent at every step. Then they want to charge additional fees for accessing the adt control app. I feel bad for the frontline employees though. Clearly their management team is the incompetent component of this company. Suggest finding a different security firm.

Worst customer care I’ve ever witnessed.
I wouldn’t have put any stars if I had an option. I was a customer for a year and had nothing but issues. The customer care system is one of the worst care services I’ve ever experienced. Then I tried to cancel my service and obviously someone wasn’t doing there job correctly and I kept getting charged. I still haven’t gotten my issues resolved and highly suggest going with a different security company. A 3 year old with a water gun would be more useful for security than ADT!!!!!!
Horrible service
1) Horrible service. Device battery is gone. It is very easy job for replace battery. I called to more than 10 ADT supporters and all are lack of knowledge to resolve the issues. Finally I hold a lady who is a reginal manager. She called supporter to ask them resolve the issue, but no result. She was mad too. Then I gave up and cancel ADT.
2) I cancel the service and the service is not working anyway. They told me on the phone that the cancelation was effective right way, but I receive the bill which charged extra month fee. ADT can charge customer without service.
3) In the past years with ADT, I tested several time to make alarm on, but ADT no one call me in 7-8 min. That is horrible security monitoring.
It's a poor business and dishonest
This company is a joke! Every time I call I get a different answer! I've been calling them because my mom passed away and we cancelled the service but they kept pulling money from my mom's account after the service was disconnected. They said we had a credit of $390 from all the money they pulled from her account. After I found this out I told them that the property was sold and they said they would forward a check to my apartment. Well they sent the check to my old property, I told them once again that the check needed to be forwarded to my current address and then they said they would forward it again, I never got the check...again, so I called again and they said that they tried to refund it electronically but my mom's bank account was closed so it didn't go through. so I called again and then they said they would forward the check once again to my current address. Still no check. I have called at least 3 more times about this issue and they keep giving me the run around! So beware. This company is incapable of performing good service and is completely dishonest. No body should have to go through this especially after losing a loved one! And it's wrong that they kept pulling money after the service was disconnected. I highly encourage anybody that is going to use this company to read the reviews and go to the better Business bureau website to see how their service is performed. I do not recommend this company to anybody or any business whatsoever!
