I want my money back
Now I had Adt home security without cameras since March of this year. I decided to add two cameras. Everything is wonderful with the home service but the camera upgrade has me wanting my money back. And I can’t get that back cuz they say I only had three days to return product if I don’t like it. So I called Adt for help with the camera that is not working and they tell me I have to deal with safe haven security, safe haven say no we don’t deal with nest cameras ok back to Adt the back and for between the two like no one want to deal with this issue. Long story short I have been trying to get service corrected that I’m paying for and I’m getting no where for 3 weeks. I can’t get my money back I’m stuck with a camera that won’t work and the that reason only they get one star ⭐️ I would of gave them no stars

Could not get service without endless selling first
COMPANY customer service deteriorated badly! Just needed a replacement sensor: I was routed directly to a Medic Alert sales team (after the IVR system disconnected 2X) who just started a canned pitch, would not stop or listen to me and then they HUNG UP ON ME Then when I used the virtual chat that agent also had to pitch GOOGLE products before serving me. 40 minutes on phone for very simple problem

CUSTOMERS PLEASE READ
This company is a disaster. Spent 8 hours of my day speaking with representatives from another country. The results were, almost a trip to the ER because my blood pressure was so elevated. Tried to get service on my property. The sales man said I was unable to because there was a cancelled account under my name. After 8 hours and no representative giving me any information, they would just transfer me to other reps., finally I was told there was a business account linked to my name of over 10 years ago. A business with a separate entity???? And worst off never heard of this business. And they linked it to my number?????? Then there was a third account under someone else's name in my address of over 20 years ago. On Tuesday 6-20-23 spoke with about 3 reps. The icing on the cake was SARA #212768. I asked to speak with a supervisor. Her response was, we don't have one available. You mean to tell me that ADT has only 1 supervisor and the only way to speak with them is a call back in 48 hours. This is the company that we are to put our trust in to secure our home. They transferred me to a collection company, no records. Right! because it's not mine. The rep tells me this was charged off.?????? I was under the impression when an account s charged off, your basically taking an IRS deduction as a loss. And you are still trying to collect? I requested a signed contract by me and no one can procure. I'm going to report ADT to bureau of security and investigative services and the better business bureau. As a consumer that takes care of my credit like GOLD, I've been penalized for someone else's mistake. This will not stay this way, I will assure that ADT is investigated.

Actually a ZERO rating
Actually a ZERO rating! It is impossible to cancel. Today my initial call resulted with me holding for over and hour. The hold music increases your level frustration before you get to a human. They representatives are not attentive. They are trying sell you the service again. NO DOES NOT MEAN NO TO ADT. NO MEANS YES TO ADT. On the recorded line I gave my name and account information requesting service discontinue. She overtasked me with her sales pitch until I hung up. She did not cancel the service. I did not get a confirmation.

Happy to get rid!
I am so happy to be getting rid of this service! My service has been difficult to maintain for the past year. I leave my home and try to arm, and I get a message stating it can’t be armed. Why? I’ve had services to my system as well, but to no avail. And I can’t tell you how much I will be happy to have it canceled so the incessant beeping can go away! Never again.

8 years as a loyal customer got us horrible customer service
We have been an 8 year loyal customer. A few months ago our system started having problems. We have spent hours upon hours trying to "fix" the problem remotely that involved them ordering an incorrect battery, having to return it, trying numerous other issues. We asked them each time to please send out a rep to help us - surely after 8 years of service and months of issues where we were paying for service and not able to use it - we deserved that. They refused. Finally got to a point last week where they said there is nothing more than can do. Need to upgrade system (of course at a cost). Would have been better to know that sooner. Of course now we shop around. The 2 major competitors walk through it with me over the phone and give me a quote for equipment and service. I call ADT to get a quote for comparison even after this awful experience. They tell us they can't give us a quote over the phone and have to come to the house. So they couldn't come to the house for months for service but for a Sales opportunity they insist on coming out. They have their priorities backward. We decide to cancel. Took 3 calls after being disconnected with no call back twice. Spent over 3 hours in total on hold and conversations. Good riddance!

Truly a company to avoid
Truly a company to avoid. I am trying to cancel my ADT after20 years as I am relocating. No one at ADT acknowledges authority to cancel a contract. ADT has a highly choreographed and corrupt run around customer service which sends one from one department to another, none of whom have power to cancel. And 55 minutes on the phone to learn such ineptitude. Stay away.

ADT really dropped the ball
ADT really dropped the ball. Please beware they use 3rd parties and don't even tell you that your call is being forwarded to another company to take your payment information. To make matters worst the sent the wrong technician, never sent the electrician I paid for either. They don't take any responsibility for their mistakes. 25 - 50 minute hold times for support. Truly terrible experience and terrible company.

The worst customer service ever
The worst customer service ever. If you were previously a Reliant Energy customer, beware of the ADT scam. You system is no compatible, so you will need to upgrade your system (BIG SCAM). ADT assume the Reliant customer s knowing the systems were not compatible to add to their bottom line. I have reached out to an attorney. Come back to this page for more information. I am interested in a class action. The are use to mistreating their customers.

Beware
Beware, they scam so bad. Got suckered hook, line, and sinker. 1st strike was the installer who placed my door lock pretty much destroyed my door jam then At first they were real attentive to my needs, after the 3rd time a smoke detector was replaced for fallulty alarm I had to take the batteries out and disconnect that was problem 2, my door lock became loose and the batteries died so I called they said sure they would replace my batteries but I would have to pay a service fee to have them come out, strike 3. I will be discounting my service as soon as my contract is up. Very unimpressive. I do not recommend them..

This company has terrible costumer…
This company has terrible costumer service. No management to talk to. They make you pay for their mistakes and hide pehind their policy. Do not sigh up with them. When they do send someone out it was 40 min too late. Example of what happened to me... Alarm went off, I turned it off by punching in the code. They sent the cops anyway and that cost me 367.00$. ADT said that it was my fault, even after I turned it off. Are you kidding me! I turn the alarm off and you still send the police and now I have to pay for this. I am no longer with this rip off of a company. I talked to a lawyer and he has had many complants about ADTs policies. I wish I knew this before I signed up. So who ever reads this, you are welcome.

3rd time in a year
3rd time this year, control box started beeping, received a BF error code, then FC error code. Beeping woke up my family multiple times, called ADT, was put on hold for over an hour. Was told to input password twice and it would be silenced for 12 hours… already did that because of the last two incidences. Ultimately was frustrated and asked to cancel service, the customer service person said she couldn’t do it and it to call back during normal business hours to cancel and it would take 30 days based on our contract. THIS IS ADT’S ERROR AND THEY ACT LIKE IT’S WE ARE BREACHING THE CONTRACT. Absolutely horrible customer service. The beeping has woken up my family on 3 different occasions. And troubleshooting never helped. DO NOT USE ADT, find another alarm service that’s more reliable!

They’re horrible look at the reviews
When I was closing my account from my home a high pressure salesman person convinced me to get this self install system for my apartment I agreed to get him off the phone. He said I could return it if the box wasn’t open. Lie, when I tried to return it the person said I couldn’t, and if I stopped paying they’d report it to my credit report. So I’ve been paying for a year. I lost the card I was using so I tried to give them my new card. 5 people later and 1 1/2 hours on the phone , 1 person actually disconnected me. I had nothing but problems with ADT when I had it my home. They lie, they cheat and customer service is incompetent. The alarm is in an opened box in storage. So basically I’m paying $35. to keep my credit good

Simply the worst.
The. Absolute. Worst. My system has not worked in a year. I have called no less than 12 times to either correct the issue and now to simply cancel the service. Every department transfers me to a new department. I have spent countless wasted hours on the phone to simply not pay for a system that doesn’t work and I no longer want. The equipment. You can price it on your own. What you will find is that it’s marked up 400% and lackluster at best. The app is not polished. The video and zone detection feature is highly out dated. The customer service reps don’t seem ‘jazzed’ to work there or highly motivated to help. It’s honestly to worst customer service experience and biggest waste of time and money I’ve had as an adult.

Terrible customer service experience with ADT
I bought a smart lock that would not work. The ADT rep asked me to return the lock and its been a nightmare getting the refund back. They are very prompt at charging but when it comes to getting a refund, just good luck !!!! The customer service ppl repeatedly transfer the call to different depts each time asking the same set of identification questions and finally someone just disconnects the call. Its just miserable

Third time calling ADT to cancel…
Third time calling ADT to cancel services. First time was about 3 months ago and I got bounced 3 times, then waited over 45 only to be disconnected. Second time got bounced 4 different times and couldn't wait the 55 mins to probably get bounced or disconnected again. Now, I am about to move in 2 weeks and I really have to cancel my services. I called and after getting a promising answer of "oh I can definitely help with that" from a customer rep named Dominque, I was put on hold and did the whole loop of cancellation questions. I am now on hold for what is expected to be a wait time of 45 minutes. If I get disconnected again, I'm going to scream. I seen someone on here saying they sent a notarized letter to cancel service, does that work? Cause apparently calling is not working very well. Wish I would have looked at the reviews before getting this service.

ADT and Their Subscription Service Retention Tactics - Don't be a victim
ADT, being a customer service oriented company, makes it frustratingly difficult to cancel a security subscription. But this is by design, and is a well-known tactic in the subscription service industry. It took me three attempts to contact an ADT billing services representative (customers can ONLY cancel their subscription via a direct call to their service number). Be prepared to be placed on hold with a recording that will give an estimated time for a customer service rep to answer. I'll tell you what it'll be: 64-minutes to 78 minutes. It's consistent, and it's specific to this tactic. On the first two occasions, the calls were answered at 61-minutes and 70-minutes, respectively, and the line was immediately hung up at their end. Less than a second passed with no response on their end, and the line was hung up in the middle of my "hello?" - again, a common tactic in the subscription cancellation tactic. The third time, I actually got through in just under 63-minutes; this is when you DO NOT allow the customer service rep to put you on hold after informing them of your cancellation. I made the mistake of allowing the representative to tell me he had to put me on hold so he could retrieve a certified ADT statement regarding the equipment and I would be briefly on hold. That representative never came back as the line went dead after 11-minutes on hold. I finally had enough, lodged a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the California Department of Consumer Affairs; it was at this time I was directed by CDCA to send a certified letter of cancellation to the billing address of ADT, located at the bottom of their invoices. After silence for three weeks, the cancellation finally came through, unannounced. Bottom line: Choose your subscription services and automated billing wisely. Here's a hint... there are far more superior and technologically advanced services out there that'll cover the same, and exceed in many areas, for home security.

Cancelloing the service after 2 yrs & 10 months
Called ADT Call went for 110 minutes Transferred to 6 people Req was for simple - cancel the service I was told that i will receive an email about cancelling the service in 24 hrs and its been two days, no email received so far and not sure if they cancelled the service 30 days is notice period, called on June 10 & June 13 No reference number, no one takes responsibility, they only need money

Until now, happy with service. Adding 2 smart thermostats. Was told mixed input. First, no additional monitor fee, then told there was. Told one type of thermostat, then told google nest, then told the first one. Service for 8-noon. Received email and text at around 11 that he was on his way. Went on chat and told it was scheduled for noon to 4. Never received that input otherwise. Very frustrating trying to get accurate consistent input.

WORST COSTUMER CARE EVER!
Wish I could give a negative star review. Just got off the phone with ADT representative after trying to cancel my services and to my surprises I was signed up for a 36 month agreement for a house I only had a year long leasing agreement for. They are claiming it’s my fault and there’s nothing I can do when I would have NEVER knowingly signed up for a 36 month agreement when we only live places for a year due to my husbands job. I was told I would have to pay 1300$ in cancelation fees!!! What a joke. Do not, I repeat DO NOT, EVER use ADT!!!! Not to mention my tech was 6 hours late and I was solo with 3 kids so no wondering I got tricked into signing a 36 month lease.

I wrote a bad review about ADT . So they sent me a response. So I contacted them again. Take a wild guess what happened. Not a damn thing changed. If I can deter.just one person from using them. That will make this all worthwhile

They will not allow you to cancel
They will not allow you to cancel. My system had not worked properly for about 3 years. I called a few times and finally they said they could not fix it because it was outdated. I called on Mar 30 to cancel. They said they would send a prorated bill for the remainder of the billing period. I immediately sent the amount I should have owed up until that date. They removed the charges for May but not for April. Now they won't even talk to me. I was with them since 1995 (28 years) and they won't even talk to me about it. They are referring it to collections! Run from this company.
