WARNING! The WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED!! Don’t try to call and resolve an issue with this company they will give you an Employee named Diamond who had the worst attitude EVER! I have called for 3 months, wrote emails, been transferred multiple times & hours to resolve a simple issue. There are Other COMPANIES OUT THERE! ADT NEEDS TO BE OUT OF BUSINESS! Never go with this company… appalling! … and I’m a nice person and she was still rude, if the company would care to see how there employes handle their customers it was a call taken by a woman named Diamond on 5/22/2023 @ 3:21 PM I would encourage you to listen to that call, then reconsider who you are hiring!

ADT GROSS NEGLIGENCE is Disgusting
ADT refused to send a person out to fix a hanging camera that’s offline, the front camera is also offline. The rep actually asked me did I have a ladder to climb up and try to fix my own damn camera, excuse me… if I wanted to be an ADT service tech I would have applied for that job. Horrible customer service. They said a tech wouldn’t be sent out bc of a balance of 150$. Soo to hell with my home being safely monitored via cameras… defend for yourself and once the balance is cleared… we will send someone out to check cameras… be safe now! How ridiculous is it to be an ADT customer and have equipment not working and they can care less. Thanks ADT FOR BEING RHE ABSOLUTE WORSE!!!
Pathetic customer service
Pathetic customer service. I draft this while waiting on hold (yet again) with hold time now at 24:57. This is second attempt to resolve a glitch that a previous effort with tech support failed to resolve. Hardware has been glitchy, requiring a service visit for improperly installed hardware. Look elsewhere for home protection.
Horrible customer service & over billing!
On 5/14/23 I called ADT as I was getting a notice of low battery on smoke detector 14. I called service rep as I couldn’t figure out where #14 was. The rep insisted it was in basement. Now it needs to be pointed out I am 77 yrs old & my husband is 86, so I was the person to get ladder, remove old batteries & reprogram.
After the rep finding out which detector it was & I did everything corrected, the keypad read there was a low battery in 15, then added 16 was a low battery also. The rep did not seem to know what to do but the phone call was disconnected. After a while when rep did not call back, I called ADT again speaking to a different rep. She had me do all the same thing again which involved me moving ladder, climbing up to reach detector change batteries again, returning up stairs to keypad to only see same message.
At this point I was VERY upset but rep said this problem needed a specialist & I was asked if I wanted this help. I assumed this was a tech coming into my home, but after I agreed she told me no, it would be a phone call the next day between 11:30-12:00.
I was completely disgusted after all the physical work I did to no avail!!!
About 1 hr later the alarms could not be cleared or stopped do I called ADT for third time this day. This rep said he could not send a tech to home because I had agreed to call on Monday!!!!! I asked this rep if he could bypass the alarm which he said no & explained.
Did receive call Monday, I had to do the same moving ladder, climbing, change batteries & still could not clear keypad. This specialist then told me my alarms had probably outlived their life & need to be replaced. He transferred me to salesperson who said it would cost me over $600 to replace, I said no & hung up.
We have been customers of ADT for 21 yrs, we’ve seen their services deteriorated drastically, with monthly rates rising. We can not continue to do the work ADT should be doing so my husband & I agreed to cancel.
But when I called to cancel coverage guess what?
THEY SAY WE WILL BE CHARGED FOR ANOTHER MONTH OF SERVICES AS WE DIDN'T GIVE THEM 30 DAYS NOTICE AS PER THE CONTRACT WE AGREED TO 21 YEARS AGO!!!!
We responded we do not intend to pay this bill as we have already had a new alarm installed.
The nerve of this business to expect us to pay them after all work I did on their equipment instead of them sending a service rep to correct it.
DO NOT TRUST ADT FIR ANYTHING BUT A MONTHLY BILL!!!

You would think as a company when you install an alarm in a county that needs a ALARM PERMIT you guys would either 1.take care of it on install or 2. IDK AT LEAST TELL THE CUSTOMER SO THEY DON'T FIND OUT 2 YEARS LATER!
How did I find out? A door sensor went off but no audible alarm happened inside the house so was woken up to cops at the door. Then got a letter in the mail about my lack of permit.
Also the cameras are constantly freezing and losing connection. The only way they work again is if there is a power outage and it reboots them. I tried troubleshooting with their system...didn't work...emailed them about it...no response.
I can NOT wait to get rid of this company. Now I know why they are so fast to sign up first time home buyers who are oblivious to how much they actually suck.

I can’t wait to get out of this contract. They lied from the beginning. I spoke to a agent and they told me what all I was getting. I called to confirm and he said that’s correct, but when they came out it was totally different. I was so disappointed I said I didn’t want it after they installed and they told me what they were given to do. They try to sell other equipment during there installation. They were about to leave and I said what about my door cameras and was told that’s not on there paperwork. They left and I called and they said I misunderstood what I was getting. I told them no I actually called twice before they came out and spoke to the agent and he said yes I was correct on the service. He called the workers back out to install cameras and they were so irritating that they installed cameras and gave me the information on how to setup cameras myself. I called and told them to send someone out and the person on the other end was so nasty I just said forget it. I was told also a year later to call them back I was paying for a set that I was not getting. They said they would send someone out the same day. I waited and got a email saying they tried to get me and reschedule. I said it was eight people here and no one came out. They sent someone out the next day and he did the job and I was charged a fee which I was told I would not have to pay. I was told to install something I didn’t need because the installer said it is included in package. I called and was switched to 9 people giving me the runaround. Someone finally said they would give me my money back but only it would go for my next month billing. I can’t wait to get rid of them, but I’m in a contract. I would tell anyone please look around for another carrier that is honest and won’t give you the runaround.

Poor system- Go get a RING
I have a system that covers 360 degree of the house. It will pick up a spider but will not pick up a Amazon Delivery Person walking though my front yard with 2 cameras watching the area. I have attempted to call ADT to have them resolve this but almost a year later, they have not done anything to resolve this.
Frustrated ADT Customer
I ordered an “add on” camera for my ADT security system, through an ADT representative. I was sent a Google Nest camera that is not compatible with the ADT app. NOBODY at ADT could explain, in any way that makes sense, why a camera they sold me does not work with my ADT app. I was transferred 6-8 different times, disconnected once, and wasted over an hour of my day. End result, I’m sending back the Google Nest camera and waiting 30 days for my money back. I regret signing a contract with ADT. Worst customer service by far.

Its funny I see a 1 star rating and that is only because that is the lowest you can go. STAY AWAY unless you like a company that states they are reliable that is because they do not accept responsibility for anything. I have an issue and I am not going to boar you with the details but all I get from everyone there is that was the contractors issue and to call them. It may say ADT but they are just a brand that is a scam. I switched to them from Simply Safe and that was a mistake. That's what happens when you think you are saving money. RUN AWAY it's a fraud
5-19 I have emailed them at least 10 times and the only response I get is it is not our problem reach out to BullDog security or the other installer. I repeat I want a credit for the amour I owe you or the equipment I was promised when I agreed to relocate. If read the 10 other emails you will realize I was told to leave it and promises new equipment. But the installation never happened because of the incompetence of your company. Do not blame your contractors you authorized and sent them out without the right material’s. Please just answer will I get a refund or the equipment I was promised. This is obviously a canned response and shows the concern you have. I think you have proved you don’t care.

I have been Adt customer for 10 years
My adt started to have issue with communication a few weeks ago and kept bibbing and kept me up at night. Adt arranged few visual appointment and diagnosed as communication issue and decided to send technician. They told me it will cost 59.00 for visit. I informed them this is communication issue with your system and I pay monthly and I should not be charged. They decided to waive the fee. The tech came and noticed there was no bar and no communication . He put antenna on top of the box and left.
System bibed again after 2 hours. I called back.
They scheduled another home visit. I again informed them I will not pay the tech fee of 59.00 because the system has issue. I told them I am ready to cancel adt after 10 years being a loyal customer , since system keep bibping and interrupt my sleep, and now I have to pay to fix the communication problems that is not my fault .
they asked me not to cancel and they promised to waive the 59.00.
I Should mention during all these phone visits with tech and home visit by tech, nobody informed me how to buzz down the bip, even I kept complaining that noise keep me up at night . Finally one day I got enough of bib and sleep less nights and called adt and asked them to cancel. Finally the tech over the phone informed me how to buz the bip down. This was after 2 weeks of torture and so many visual appointment and tech visit to home. This helped me to be relax at home and could sleep at night until the tech come to my home.
The tech came and didn’t even touch the system and informed me the last 8 months lots of customers like me with 4G box are having issues since AT&T updated towers and the box should be 5G and that I need a new box. He told me he send a note to sales to contact me. I asked him why sales. I don’t need to buy anything. You guys updated the tower and I pay 43 $ per month and system is not working. I informed him AdT should be honest with customers and instead of 3 weeks wasting my time and causing mental distress and lots of my time and tech time and lots of nonsense with arguing about fees, they should just automatically updated the 4G boxes to 5 G
After the tech left I got email showing they are going to charge me 59.00 even they had promised me to waive the fee. I called adt back and they promised me to waive the fee
The last 3-4 weeks it has been disappointing to deal with the agents over the phone
They promise one thing and they act different way.
Verbally they wave the fees but behind my back and without my permission they charge my credit card.
I am disappointed and I put dispute on charges.
My adt security system had not been working the last 3 weeks and instead of fixing it , company has lied after lies and nothing agents been telling me over the phone been consistence
After 10 years being loyal customer I want to disconnect my service
The agents at loyalty department on 5/8/2023 told me they will give credit for May and asked me not to pay the credit card bill for May that was due on 12 and I didn’t pay
To my surprise, on may 17 I got email from my credit card company, reminded me my bill was overdue.
I called credit company and found adt did not give me credit for May , but also charged additional 59.00 , which I think is tech fee and additional 38.00 and I don’t know what it is for
I called ADT again and agent told
me you have credits of 258 but credit company tell me I owe them
On 5/8/23 AdT promised me to waive 150.00 fee for box. For activation they told me to pay 99.00 to tech and they instead will wave fee for May and June to cover the activation fee.
If Adt shows I have credit of 250.00 and credit company show me I owe them 150.00 them , it means I have credit of 100.00 which is not covering 150.00 for the box and June
I have credit score of over 800 and is because I always pay my bills on time. This is first time a credit company reminding me to pay my bills.
I don’t want my credit be ruined. Also I never gave ADt permission for autopay. So why you already charged my credit card. This is fraud and I disputed the charges and any future charges
Hereby I would like to cancel Adt service after 10 years being a loyal customer. All due to dishonesty from company and the agents. Please stop doing this to other customers. Take 5G boxes to all old customers like me who has 4G boxes and avoid them all these nonsense .
I will put these in a review on your webside and please Cancel my service. I don’t want any more false promises. Do not touch my credit card and I don’t want to see any charges.
I have no contract with ADT and have been month to month for the last 8 years
ADT SECURITY IS LIKE,
1). Having ADT for an alarm system IS THE EQUIVALENT OF driving past a home that still has a SATELLITE DISH on the property. ADT RARELY WORKS during the storms in your life.
2). Signing an ADT contract is EQUIVALENT to RUSHED DECISION MAKING, trouble is easy to get into but difficult to get out of.
3). Enjoy the English speaking representative who knowingly welcomes you to ADT, THAT PERSON COULD BE THE LAST AMERICAN REPRESENTATIVE YOU SPEAK WITH FOR THE NEXT 3 YEARS OF YOUR CONTRACT.
LASTLY, taking someones money without asking and/or taking more than what you were allowed to take is called STEALING. However ADT calls it AUTOPAY.
There are many better and cheaper alternatives available.
They are more than happy to come your home and install monitoring devices but if you have issues with them you are screwed. I have spent over 4 hours on the phone with them trying to cancel my service.

I have had my service with ADT for over 20 years. I have recently (5/12/23) had my service upgraded. First of all I feel that I was overcharged. The sales person and I agreed on a 3 payment plan. I made a payment on the phone with the sales person and when the technician came out he was trying to charge me again for another payment. I was told by the salesperson that if I made a payment that day, The next payment would not be due until 30 days later and the final payment would be 60 days later. I found out on 5/15/23 that they did take another payment from a previous bank account, creating an overdraft. I contacted customer service and between them transferring me from Billing to Sales and back to Billing. I had talked to 5 people in 20 minutes. One person had such a heavy accent that I could not understand him at all, another person left me on silent hold for 10 minutes and the last person that I spoke to with another heavy accent, said that there was nothing she could do because it was a valid charge. I am so sorry that I have remained a customer for so many years. They don't care about the customer and they over charge without consideration. They have so many bad reviews, I don't see how they stay in business. I am just so sorry to have to write another bad review. Take your business somewhere else!

I have been trying to get assistance with my ADT camera since Feb 2023. I was told that a service rep would call on a scheduled date and it never happened. I have called and sent emails through the app and still NOTHING. but.. ADT continues to debit my account on time. ADT has not kept up their end of the bargin. I will not renew my contract.

Non communicative/ No action taken ever
No emails get replied to ever so I finally spent 45 minutes of my time again to call ADT getting transferred 3 times in order to speak to a Customer Service Manager or similar that can address our issue = non communication by ADT with regards to how to use their app which we tried to sort out now for over 1 year!!!! I managed to talk to Tina who was very pleasant and appeared helpful - she checked ADT system and advised internal complaint was lodged on Monday 15/5 and what happened to us should never have happened as the technical team is supposed to train. She said we would get a call back from the "retention team" normally within 24-48 hours - we are still waiting......
"Security" company or scammers themselves?
Complete scammers! I had to report them to my bank as fraud and put a stop pay hold to get them to stop charging me even though I told them a week before my contract ended that I did not want any more charges!
They still charged anyway and today I've been on the phone for over 5 hours trying to get any of them to help!
I am a disabled veteran. For a "security" company to shamelessly scam me and others is absolutely despicable and disgusting business practices.
I saw many other people having the same problem online....they force you to cancel by phone....then give you a run around for hours without any confirmation of cancelation.....and then you still get charged fraudulently.....
No doubt they will respond to "email them" about it....as if 20 phone calls and even an online chat on their website wasn't enough run around....well I DID already email the email they spam reply to everyone on here too...

Worst customer service EVER! Nobody feels responsible, you get transferred a dozen times w/o talking to somebody who is willing to help. I had an issue with my order where the mistake was clearly on ADT's side (they didn't send me the devices that i had ordered) and it took me over 3hrs on the phone and 12 (!!!!!!!) "service" agents to get it sorted out.
Billing says there is an outstanding payment that no agent could track. I really regret that I chose ADT.

After ADT took 2 payments from my debit card for one bill, I attempted to call: Someone answered and I was transferred. ADT KEPT ME ON HOLD FOR SO LONG THAT I DECIDED TO STREAM A MOVIE TO STAY OCCUPIED WHILE I WAITED. NO ONE EVER ANSWERED. Another day I was promised a call back that ADT never returned. The next week an ADT SUPERVISOR told me that I would receive my return, "THAT WAS AN ADT LIE." In the end I was refused a refund and forced to take a credit.

I have been trying to end my contact…
I have been trying to end my contact for over 2 years. Every time I call they say I extended my contact again, which I never did. I finally ended the contract by paying almost $300 for service I did not have. My alarm has been going off in error bringing the police, fire and ambulance service unnecessarily. The equipment is faulty so I do not set it anymore for fear of it going off again. I was away from my home for almost 2 years for chemotherapy in Indianapolis staying with family. I would have loved to have the peace of mind knowing my home was safe but I couldn’t trust the system. I signed up for ADT when my husband passed away in 2009. Service was good for many years but not now. I hope you are happy to be practically stealing my payment each month while providing NO service and still raising your prices. I am a 72 year old widow living on a fixed income.

This company refused to cancel my service despite being outside of the contract window. I had to make 4 different attempts to cancel my monitoring services over the course of 10 months. They continued to charge me and each attempt was met with incompetent reps that seemed to be reading from prompt cards instead of helping me with the issue. Long conversations with redirection and excuses on why they can't do anything with reassurances that this time it will be different. Once the company actually cancelled my service I was told I needed to pay 95$ to bring everything current and it would be done. No. 4 months later I receive a collection notice for $85. ADT will continue to charge you and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. There's no action you can take. If you are currently a customer then when you go to cancel don't do it over the phone. Do it over email so there is a paper trail and you can substantiate your claim. I lost over $700 to this company plus several $25 returned payment charges due to someone changing my account information after my first cancelation attempt. I just paid the collection and pray this is over.
Edit: ADT finally "found" the third attempt I made to cancel in Nov 2022. They now offer a refund of $70 (lost over $800) after I posted this review on every platform I could. What about my attempts in June and September?? At this point they are just trying to save face. Unacceptable.
Avoid at all costs
I agree with all the comments below. I paid a bill on 25th April by BACS. Despite having sent proof of payment 3 times now they are threatening legal action against my company. I will be cancelling agreements with them. The customer service is non existent. I am now looking forward to going to court as they seem to ignore all emails.

I wish I could rate no stars. Like a used car salesman, Brian Johnson came sold us a list of services (like Nest) and promised his support. Sure enough as soon as he got paid he ghosted. When we had an issue with two window sensors we contacted him… the sole text response we got from him “when was the install”, which we reminded him was just a few weeks prior and he apparently forgot who we were. After that, zero responses. This was very unprofessional and disrespectful, Awful customer service for someone representing a company like ADT. If you are considering ADT and he contacts you, ask for another agent. This guy seemed very nice but took the money and ran.
