When I 1st switch to ADT that was the biggest mistake I made. I was lied to by the rep that placed my installation appointment. I never received the promotion gift card. Fast forward a yr later. I moved and called ADT to see what my opinion was. I was offered ADT BLU and was told my my remaining contact balance and equipment would be zero out since I was remaining a ADT costumer. Well that was a lie I received a bill for $2600. I was lied to by the rep and has been getting the run around for the last two weeks. I should have stayed with Doyle. If anyone looking for security service DONT USE ADT

Horrible Customer Service
I have been on the phone—mostly holding—for 5 hours!! I have been disconnected twice. This is uncalled for! I cancelled my service in December of last year. I was no longer under contract. ADT upgraded their system last year and needed to send a tech out to do something so we could continue to be monitored. I took a full day off work and the tech never showed up or called. ADT told me they did not have a tech to come to our rural area to do the work so I cancelled my service. It is documented with them. In March if this year I received a bill for four months of service. I called and was told my account did not actually get cancelled. I was told the charges and late fees would be taken care of and they would make sure it was cancelled. Today I received a letter from a collection agency for those charges!!!! I have spoken to 12, yes twelve people over five hours this afternoon and evening!!! I keep getting transferred and out back on hold!!! An account manager told me he was fixing it and then put me back on hold and I was disconnected. I called back and was transferred around again and finally sent to billing who told me account management had to take care of this! Apparently the previous account management guy did not take care of it and just hung up on me. This is the absolute worst communication I have seen in a company—both between themselves and the customer! I will be filing a BBB complaint and more if they will not fix this!

I suggest looking elsewhere for home security.
I have been an ADT customer for 15 years. My system has stopped working and the buttons on the keypad are non-responsive. this has been going on for a year. I have sent letters to their corp headquarters with no response and I spent nearly 3 hours in total last week waiting on hold to talk to a person. Their "chat room" rep is just as non-responsive. I am completely giving up on this company and its lack of customer concern. I'd rate them with zero stars if that were an option.

When I signed up
When I signed up, it was very fast, but when I tried to apply for the service, I had to wait more than an hour for a phone call. Only the same person answers the phone every day. Is there only one person working? Therefore, if the call is disconnected after waiting for a long time, it does not call back again. Very dirty and will never join again

Over 80 minute hold time for technical issues, service technician used old battery with new system that died shortly after it was installed. The new system won’t stay connected to the internet and randomly chirps. Horrible customer service that doesn’t care

ADT...USELESS AND NOT CUSTOMER SERVICE Absolutely useless security company Had a break in ... security on site was questioned why didn't he check the premises and told us that if we don't like the service we should change it. Then when we requested to cancel we were told we need to pay a penalty for early cancellation. We refused and showed adt proof we signed a month to month contract which they didn't even have on their system or maybe they did but thought we wouldn't have our copy. Finally now canceled we were not notified that the services were canceled with adt because we were waiting for confirmationin order to sign up with a new security.... so we now left without security

Do not fall for their 6 month…
Do not fall for their 6 month guarantee. I tried to cancel this service after only 5 weeks and they gave me a big hassle - they won't cancel. I paid 1680.00 for this mess and I am stuck with a very poor service that DOES NOT work correctly and now I have to pay for it for 3 years. I have unplugged it, not using it. A HUGE RIP OFF.

I have tried to cancel ADT 3 times
I have cancelled ADT 3 times, and received verbal confirmation from a customer service representative 3 times. Despite the confirmations, ADT continues to bill my credit card every month. Each time I talk to them, the representative claims that there have been no previous calls from me. Each time I call, I am transferred from agent to agent, and I am placed on hold for long periods of time (today for over an hour). ADT now claims that my contract has been renewed, and is charging me over $300. to cancel a contract that should have been cancelled months ago. The company is designed to rip off its customers. It uses automatic billing for the purpose of perpetuating this scam. NEVER use this company!

ADT locks customers into 3 year…
ADT locks customers into 3 year contracts without properly informing them. I had been with ADT for 9 years and several months ago converted to a digital system. I spent 1000 dollars on equipment and the system never worked properly. I had techs over to the house on multiple occasions without any resolution. Then they charged me 900 dollars to cancel my contract. It was worth the money to never have to deal with this unscrupulous company ever again. Vivint has much better customer care, equipment, and can be cancelled any time without hidden fees.

I do not recommend ADT, go elsewhere. From the beginning the sales man told me i would receive a $100 gift card, never did. The package and pricing that was agreed upon with the sales man was false. The installer came and told us that is not correct and this happens all the time. The price was double what i was quoted. Three weeks later and im replacing the batteries in the window alarms because batteries are dying. When I called in I was told this is common. I guess you shouldnt tell your customers they will last years. A lot of false advertising going on here. Wish i would have went elsewhere. Take my advise, do not use!

Total lack of communication so bad you have to laugh
Honestly where to start, the lack of communication within this company is un true. The system we were told we were getting was totally diffrent to what we received I have to say Tom the installer was fantastic, helpful and very polite while in our home. We had this installed on 6th september. Thankfully we have now had it removed however we were advised on the date of installation that our complaint had been raised to their customer support team, we chased them after a week of no communication to find out this hadn't happened. We then sent an email ourself and was advised it can take up to 15 working days for someone to be back in touch with us, a week had already been wasted after being told a manager had already escaleted our case. Ok I get we are all busy but when we have a system with various mamfulctions showing this really isn't acceptable. A few weeks pass... Still no communication from ADT, I finally lost my tever and called the accounts department to advise of the issues and as i have had no response to put the account in to dispute i was advised they needed all evidence that i had of the us having issues, thankfully we deceided to sent the email and not just wait on the fact we had been told it had aready been raised as an issue. After speaking with the accounts team i wanted to know what adt had been doing about this issue that had now been on going for 3 weeks. Jerome answered and honestly it was the first time I felt like someone had truly listened. He advised the department I needed were closed for the day but he was back in work at 10am and would chase them on my behalf and he actually did! Hallelujah for this fabulous person, he put me in contact with Jen to have the system removed and refunded. All is well however yet again ADT clearly don't like to communicate to one annother.... we had the system removed on the Monday 3rd october, Wednesday morning we get a call saying there's a fault with our alarm. Quite clearly there is a fault as it's no longer installed! So I advise the gent it's been removed. Then again Wednesday tea time, get annother call saying the same thing. At this point I'm thinking it may take 24 hours for the system to update.... Well I'm on the 5th phone call about the same system that we no longer have! Then Friday comes (please note we have been advised by jen that we will receive a full credit for all the monies paid after the systems been removed) remmitence email stating we owe money. I ignore it thinking it maybe a system error. Then again today (monday) annother remittance email. So I speak with the accounts department who can see that they in fact owe me a refund. I'm not sure if atd truly understand what a show this has been, I for one recommended you to so many people before this fiasco happened and now advising anyone who's thinking of getting a security system to stay as far away as possible from this company including business contacts. I genuinely do have to say Jen an Jerome were fantastic, two out of however many I have spoken with are true attributes to your ever failing team.

Customers service sucks.i replaced battery pack on my control panel and I got a alt comm error. Spent all day on the phone trouble shooting and unplug transformer and battery etc.. they always hang up on me. I'm trying to make. An appointment to get a tech to come out. I can't get a hold of them. I'm so over this company. Stay away at all costs. I'm waiting for my second call back to make an appointment. I spent all day today so far on the phone and nothing is resolved. I want to rip the equipment off my wall and throw it in the street. Just went thru hurricane Ian and this system has not worked since. They do not care about there customers

Run! You gonna get yourself killed or robbed with ADT service
Our sensor started acting up last week so we called to get it fixed and the issue was fixed according to them but non of the sensors were working evidently; leaving my business unprotected for 1 whole week. Now I am trying to reach them and no one is picking up my phone. Fu** You ADT! Fu** Your Service and incompetent staff! On behalf of my account, you should expect a call from my attorney for breaching a contract.

Tare the worst service provider that I have ever experienced. They provide no service, put you on hold for hours, never return calls through their automated system. Please locate a new carrier as once my system is up and running I will cancel. Please do not use ADT

STAY AWAY!!
STAY AWAY!!! I pay $70.00 a month for ADT monitoring service and one of our door sensors has been acting up. I started calling ADT this am at 7:00am and have had to make 5 additional calls to correct the problem. All I wanted ADT to do was disarm that particular door sensor. No success whatsoever so I said that I wanted a tech to come by our home and correct the problem. To do that… believe it or not I have had to make 3 additional calls with wait times of close to an hour each!!! THE WORST SERVICE EVER!!!!!!!

Canceling is nearly impossible, was told last November (2021) my account was cancelled and had no fees by a woman named Kathy and my account was in the clear and I did not owe anything. Today, (October 7th 2022) I received a letter in the mail stating I owed over $1000. I called in to talk about this random bill and was transfered back and forth and waiting over an hour for every representative to answer. I finally got James in the billing department who was of absolutely no help, and basically said that no-one could assist us with anything, at all. I have been lied to and charged for services for almost a year that I did not use. I sold my house after I cancelled (last November) and currently go through a different security service provider and have been for awhile now. My husband and I are actually sick to our stomachs from the lack of customer service and the atrocious negligent actions of this company. We will not be paying a bill that we do not owe. Do yourselves a favor and go with other company's for your security services, look for good track records. Hopefully this helps anyone reading this avoid this asanine experience we had to face today.

The worst cust svc and experience ever
The worst - after cumulative calls totaling 5 hours on hold on the 4th and 5th of Oct, finally got a person to answer the phone and cxl my account based on the 30 day notification required. I asked about proration and they said it would be prorated but then sent me a bill saying the complete amount was due immediately and it was not prorated as they said it would be. No way I would trust them to refund an overpayment so guess I’ll have to prorate it myself. The original bill was due to be charged to many credit card on the 11th, However the account on line said it was due the 20th and not due upon receipt which is what the bill they mailed me said, which OBTW is before the billing cycle begins. I am paid through the 8th, and DO NOT OWE THEM a full month as I cxl within their 30 day requirement which is 5 days prior to the end of the ADT svc period. As crooked as they are, and lacking any form of customer service, I would never get my money back. I am so disgusted with their business. Don’t ever use them - they have no idea what customer service is and they will rip you off on the amount they charge.. The amount they charged kept increasing every few months - how on earth does a retiree deal with that when income does not increase to cover such increases. So they charge 80 a month but offer me $10 a month to stay. Why couldn’t they have done that in the first place. Such a disgusting experience.

ADT most inconvenient service...
ADT claims to be the "most trusted" name in home security. They should change this to "most inept" name in home security. The fact that you cannot cancel your subscription online is RIDICULOUS... I am currently on hold for almost an hour to speak to a representative and cancel my subscription. I am cancelling because I have recieved a multitude of "communication" errors with my system and ADT had done NOTHING about it. They've had a tech come out twice and "work" on the system which usually involves them standing in front of the alarm control box looking dumb and then trying to charge me for fixing their broken system... the alarm goes off at any random time of night and wake my wife and I up... I was on hold for 45 minutes to then have a 30 second conversation with a customer care rep... only to then put me on hold for another 5 minutes to get to the person I need to speak with... then have a 10-15 minute conversation where they try and convince me to "upgrade" my system... only to tell me if I want to cancel it will have to wait (30) days and there is a $100 cancellation charge. This service is absolutely the most inconvenient system on the market and as large as they are it is suprising that they haven't moved into the 21st century with their technology.

Cancelling was a nightmare BUT IT GETS WORSE!
Cancelling was a nightmare! Then they send me a letter in the mail announcing (on the outside of the envelope) to everyone that sees my mail that I no longer have monitoring with them. I feel like they are trying to set me up to be robbed since I have cancelled their service and WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN! They know that my mailperson knows when I am out of town and now they know I no longer have ADT monitoring! THIS IS A HORRIBLE THING TO DO AND SHOULD BE ILLEGAL!

ADT SCORE for customer support F- ADT DOORBELL product is F- I believe that the ADT customer service is possible the worst that I have ever worked with. Hours have been spent on “HOLD”, being passed from department. Not being able to rely on their doorbell camera and recording sessions. I have requested for a service call to my house several times. They have sent instructions on reconnecting the camera and over the phone conversation around about 5 times. I have been paying for a doorbell camera that can’t do it’s job and they refuse to send a person with their company to repair it, if possible. If they do come to my house there is a service call of $135.00. I have now decided to remove their doorbell and have it taken off my month bill. Now, once again, after 36 min on “HOLD” I had to transferred to account management…”HOLDING” for 23 min. What is going on with ADT??? No service and now, no one to talk to you, except to drag you to another area. Today has been the third day that this mess has been going on. I spent near $3,000 to have my system installed two years ago and my doorbell has only worked 50% of the time.. since September 2022, it had stoped working. I’m going to go to AT&T and buy their doorbell camera, that goes directly to my phone. ADT score on their doorbell is an F- ADT score on their customer support F- Davenport Springfield Mo

Dear Mr. Devries, If I were the CEO of a major American institution, I would want to know if the customer-facing systems of my company were dysfunctional. While I sit on a ADT help-line for the umpteenth time, I am taking a moment to write you on the off chance that you or a staff member monitor this Trustpilot account. I have been a paying ADT customer at my present home since July of 2020. The system has never worked reliably in the two years since it was installed. As an ADT technician recently advised, the system's touchpad is configured to communicate via ATT cell service, but ATT doesn't provide a strong enough signal to relay messages - and it never has. Perhaps I should have run diagnostics as soon as ADT installed the system to catch the installer's error. But this isn't the reason I'm writing. The utterly inexplicable ADT business practice is the advice that the earliest ADT would switch my service from ATT to Verizon was six weeks away. As you stress in your advertising, ADT is not promising to deliver a frill consumer experience. ADT is offering assurance in the event of life-threatening emergencies. The fundamental vendor commitments in this business must include prompt repair of inoperable systems. Perhaps the necessary answer is that ADT has lost the capacity to staff its regional repair centers and cannot meet its fundamental commitments to its loyal customers. Surely this can't be a satisfactory answer to you. And if this is the answer, why do you still send me bills for a service you can't provide? And how in the world did the installer decide to connect the system to a cell provider that has never provided a strong enough signal to service your system. As you reflect on this problem, please imagine your customer waiting for hours on multiple support line calls and online chat support lines. You might add to your image the fact that there is a fault in a door sensor that sends a "tamper" alert triggering alarms at least once a day. Again, no tech support staff or repair technician has been able to resolve the issue. Perhaps I am simply wasting my time writing and this message will simply end up in an unmonitored email account. At least I tried.
