2 events occurred in my store had video…
2 events occurred in my store had video recording equipment installed - was not advised recording or audio had to be set. Person came out to set up still did not complete recording and audio setup - tried canceling on numerous occasions now charging me 1700 for canceling poor working equipment that I paid at installation.

Liars!
Liars! Please do not use this company. When you setup your appointment they will quote you free installation but then charge you $400 more than the quote during installation....after they have cut wires from previous systems. Additionally, they will tell you fire and smoke monitoring can be provided through existing systems. This is not true either. Lastly, five days in with our equipment and the doorbell camera isn't working properly.Totally lied to me and I never would have agreed to the price up front that I ended up paying. I would give negative stars if I could.

ADT Does Not Give You A $200.00 Referral As Promised
Made a referral in December 2025, and was suppose to receive a $200.00 dollar referral fee. It’s March 27th 2026 now and I still have not received it. The salesman has talked with representives from their referral department twice about me not receiving the $200.00 as promised to me. I called to speak with the referral department twice and ADT advised that they cannot get in contact with them.

I had extensive conversations with them and they agreed to roll the cost of upgraded equipment into my overall bill. They continue to charge for the equipment separately. It is a scam.

We’ve been paying them for the past…
We’ve been paying them for the past three years without using any other products stuck in a contract. When we got in contact with them and told him that we moved, they said we can’t cancel our contract but we can switch it over to the new house and just continue paying on our old contract. We said that’s fine and so when we switched it over to the new house, they started a new contract behind her back without her consent that we are now stuck again a three year long nightmare

The worse customer service
The worse customer service. I called today and begged for help with my outdoor cameras. There was no problem when buying the cameras from them and adding the extra service but now because they are not working I can’t get any help and the customer service on the phone is like talking to a machine. What is happening with all these big companies! I am now stuck having to pay about 900.00 to get out of my contract but it’s worth it. I want a company like the way ADT was when I first started with them. And, Dam! I will find it.

I have major problem with account…
I have major problem with account management. It is three step process to cancel the service. All three people asked the same question. What a waste, stock is 50% down because you have over staff doing same thing. I would look in the process. Transferred three time to three people ask same question. When I got upset the rep says why am i mad and I am rude. 🫵You are fired! 🤣🤣

I was ghosted twice on installation of service and hung up on by the call center customer service multiple times trying to cancel my service
I was ghosted twice on the installation of camera spectra electrical never returned calls, and when I went to cancel the service, the call center either put me on hold for 15-30 minutes and then disconnected the call. ADT Customer Service is extremely poor

I have been a customer of ADT for 17 years
I have been a customer of ADT for 17 years, and what I’ve experienced recently has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing. When I upgraded my system, I was required to sign a new 3-year contract. At that time, I purchased two Google Nest cameras that were installed by a technician. What I was not told during the sales process is that if I ever change my home WiFi password, I would need to have an ADT technician come out to reconnect the cameras—at a cost of nearly $300 each time. This was only disclosed to me after installation by the technician. Had I known this upfront, I never would have agreed to purchase the cameras. At the time of installation (late on a Friday), I expressed concern and told the technician I might want to return the cameras. He called his manager while in my home, and I was told that as long as I contacted ADT by the following Monday, I would be able to return them. I did exactly that—and what followed has been a truly awful experience. Since then, I have: Been given conflicting information by multiple representatives Been passed from department to department with no resolution Been told things would be handled that were never followed through on Spent countless hours on the phone trying to resolve a very simple issue At this point, I feel that the process is intentionally difficult, and that customers are simply worn down in hopes they will give up. What has been most frustrating is the lack of accountability and clear communication. No one seems willing or able to provide a straightforward answer or resolution. After 17 years as a customer, this has been extremely disappointing. I would strongly caution others before doing business with ADT.

Wish I could give a zero star review
Wish I could give a zero star review. I closed my account but they continue to charge me. I do not live at the address anymore and no one at customer service can help me. I keep getting charged for services I do not have.

Horrible company
Horrible company. They mislead you all the way. Ran out of batteries and they cost $38 dollars each. Alarms go off all the time. Monitor breaks. I tried to cancel and they said it would cost me $1200 bucks. Major rip off!

Can you give zero stars?
UPDATE: Got a check in the mail for $250. They have a long way to go to good service, but it is a start. They did the right thing. Can you give zero stars? The company asks for $250 from the estate. Why? They say it didn't receive returned equipment and is too lazy to walk over to the warehouse to see if they can locate it. The estate paid it to move the closing of the estate, filed a complaint with BBB, filed a complaint with the Attorney General's office. I would suggest that no one sign up with ADT. It doesn't go well. There are thousands of complaints out there about this company. Do your due diligence and go with someone else. How bad did they need this $250? Was it worth all of the bad reviews that will come from this customer? P.S. They charged us an extra month after they received the death certificate. Their condolences on the phone did not sound sincere.

ADT BUYERS BEWARE !!!!!
Called for a quote and got a bill for over $1,000.00 dollars. I refused to pay and they somehow did a small claims court action with no notice to me until the money was sucked out of my retirement account. The claim must have been filed with a false signature. Some way to treat a handicapped 85 yr old vet.

I spoke to a person in the billing…
I spoke to a person in the billing department on 3/20/26. His greeting was, “How is it hanging?” I mentioned it that is very unprofessional to greet your customer like that. His reply, “…this is the new age, new generation…” I didn’t care to continue any conversation with him. I just informed him that I didn’t realize ADT was so unprofessional now. I’ve been with the company for 7 years now but now it’s time to change to a different security company.

AWFUL COMPANY STAY AWAY
THIS COMPANY IS NOT THE TYPE OF COMPANY THAT ANYONE SHOULD HAVE, THEY ARE NOT RELIABLE ANDEXPENSIVE. WHEN WE HAD THEM THEY DID NOT IN THE ENTIRE TIME GIVE A SERVICE. THEY ONLY KEPT ADDIDING VARIOUS MONTHLY PAYMENTS TO OUR BILL, SO WE DECIDED TO CHANGE ALARM COMPANY WE SENT A LETTER LETTING THEM KNOW TO CANCEL OUR SERVICE AND AFTER THAT THEY SAID WE OWED $50.94 IN NOVEMBER.SO I PAID THAT AND 3 MONTHS LATER THEY SAID THAT WE OWE $206.40. WE CANCEL THEM IN NOVEMBER, NOW THEY ARE TRYING TO MORE MONEY, I ASSUME THIS IS PUNISHMENT FOR CANCELING THEIR SERVICE. PLEASE I ADVISE ANYONE DO NOT GET THIS SERVICE YOU WILL REGRET IN THE END

I have my Adt alarm about 6 weeks and…
I have my Adt alarm about 6 weeks and have had a false alarm on the same door 5 times. The detector was moved closer battery changed and the alarm goes off the same time of morning each time. I inquired about a timer being set and the tech has no answer, only saying let's try this and th a t and hope it ok WHAT? And please tell me why there are no boot covers used a person's home when the tech has have been everywhere. ADT makes plenty of money to get these issues resolved. Regard, C. Robinson

I would not use ADT again
I was a long time customer really because of inertia. It is difficult to change services when you have a system hardwired in. But over time, their service has deteriorated. They didn’t even notice when my alarm went off for over a month. And when I needed customer service, I spent hours waiting on the phone and wasn’t able to get the help I needed to get my alarm working again. Edit: ADT, I don’t think you are capable of fixing a problem with your service as it is systemic.

Poor service
My Adt had not been working correctly for about 8 months. I went to help website and it said I needed a new $35 battery. Ordered it did not improve. I went to help over and over, finally I got an actual person that scheduled a tech. He said I needed an all new system to the tune of approximately $500. I said no I canceled my service but they keep texting and calling wanting money. I have talked at length with 2 of their specialists who only give the hard sell. Can't seem to get rid of them but where were they when I needed help with my failing system. I was a customer for approx 7 years. Again they want me to contact them. I have already spoken at length with 2 specialists. I do not want ADT anymore . I am done.

This is hell
This is hell ! The worst co i every had to deal with ! They glue you to a 5 year contract. The alarm system is crap. Faulty sensors, false alarms, service appointments cancelled at the last minute , you name it ! Wrong instructions to silence the alarm ! Run run run away from this co ! Their alarms are absolutely bullshit ! Their service to try things working is hell !

I am filing a complaint against ADT…
I am filing a complaint against ADT regarding defective home security equipment and failure to honor their satisfaction guarantee. For approximately six months I have been experiencing ongoing issues with my ADT security equipment. The system has not been functioning properly, and despite multiple attempts to have the issue resolved, ADT has refused to repair or replace the malfunctioning equipment. A home security system is supposed to provide safety and reliability, but the equipment I was provided has continued to fail. I have made repeated service requests and also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau in an effort to resolve the problem, but ADT has not provided a meaningful solution. ADT advertises customer satisfaction and reliable protection, yet they are refusing to stand behind their equipment or replace the defective system. I am requesting that this issue be reviewed as a potential case of unfair or deceptive business practices. I recently signed up for service with ADT Inc. and unfortunately had a very frustrating experience. When I first called to schedule an appointment, the representative asked for my Social Security number and credit card information. I told her I wasn’t comfortable providing that information at that stage, and she assured me that I would not be billed or bound to a contract just for scheduling the appointment. On the day of installation, I realized I wasn’t going to be available during the time window, so I called immediately to reschedule. Apparently, the technician had already been waiting outside my house because ADT failed to communicate the update to him. During the installation walkthrough, the technician recommended equipment for my home. In hindsight, I was oversold two smoke/carbon monoxide detectors that I didn’t actually need. The guy made it seem like he had wasted his time, and I needed to purchase all this equipment. This pushed my monthly payment to over $100. After realizing this, I called ADT to try to return one of the devices. I was transferred more than six times and spoke with multiple representatives. I eventually spent about an hour speaking with a supervisor named Shelby and an account manager, but the only response I received was that the 3-day cancellation period had passed and I was locked into the contract. The experience felt very frustrating. I wasn’t asking to cancel the entire service only to return one unnecessary device but there seemed to be no flexibility at all. Based on my experience, I would strongly encourage others to carefully review what equipment is being installed and understand the contract terms before agreeing to anything.

Horrible
Horrible, stay away! DO NOT GET THIS COMPANY TO SECURE YOUR HOME, low quality equipment as well as extremely poor costumer service, condescending operators who dont care and scam you out of your money. Calls for there cameras to come and be fixed and did nothing about it, systems that stop working shortly after installation and they still charge you. I WROTE THIS A WEEK AFTER CANCELING and I still have a hard time getting over they're rude costumer service representatives. Would not recommend them at all.

This is a terrible terrible terrible company. No one should ever be using this company because it’s all lies. I had years ago and I had forgotten how bad they were and I had the monitors in controls already in. I’ve now currently had it for less than two weeks and I’m trying to cancel after they charge me $750 for the equipment. They don’t be stand behind their company and it’s a total rip off. I remember the last time after thinking back where I tried to cancel, but I had to pay another six months and did not use the system because they wanted so much money to come out and repair something so I did not even use it. It’s a total scam.
