incompetence at its finest
Since 2021 until now late 2023 - Like many others, would give 0 STARS because they are the most incompetent company with fraudulent systems & bullshxt customer service How does sending broken hubs & having non functional apps leading to 0 function of my equipment not allowing me to void a contract? THAT IS A SPECIFIC PERFORMANCE CLAUSE. Faulty fxcking equipment, proof given to all reps spoken to yet nothing can be done? That is complete & total bullshxt. So after three years of paying I'm tired. Packages have been stolen during Christmas because my equipment never worked & yet I still can not void? Make it make sense

I think adt should change their name to Boob security
I don't know how adt does with home security but for business security I can't imagine it being worse,if you enjoy being woke up every Sunday morning at 6 o'clock for a false alarm ,when you call for repair their equipment they never call you back or try to repair the problem,we get charged $250 by the city police for false alarms..I have it written in the contract not to call the police until I authorize it Yep the 1st thing they do is call the police, I've tied everything I can think of to correct the problem tp no avail..DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE you'll be sorry and alot poorer.

This company is as bad as some cell…
This company is as bad as some cell phone and microsoft. I purchased their system 5 years ago about 3 years ago I cancled the app to control my system on my phone. I just tried to add the app back on and was informed they upgraded the app and my system is old and will not work on the new app, They said for $600 I could get a new pannel I said no way then they said they could do it for $300 what a rip off

would give 0 stars if possible. After installation, door contacts fell during night. Fixed myself since I did not want to wait for a multi hour wait. Simple thing to do yet adt not competent to do. Gave notice of termination almost 60 days in advance (30 per contract) and adt still sends bills even though I disabled equipment before end of contract. The contract seemed straightforward about how to cancel at end of initial 3 years, yet process failed. Like too many companies, beginning to pay is easy but getting out if overly difficult leading to perception of deception and irresponsibility. Avoid. Yes, I'm annoyed/frustrated.

Deceptive, Coercive and Illegal
ADT deployed deceptive and illegal tactics to coerce me out of a contract with another security provider and lure me into a contract with them. My decision to enter into an agreement with ADT was based on lies and false information provided to me over the phone by a disingenuous sales representative. I cancelled a contract that I was in with a previous security provider because ADT offered me a better deal to sign up for their service. However, when the technician came to install the equipment I contracted with ADT for, I was told there would be additional fees for some of the equipment and services, which was not previously stated and is NOT mentioned in the contract. After speaking to Judith Chapel, the representative who initially set up my contract, she acknowledged that she made an error in leaving off charges that would be necessary to set up the equipment. I spoke to her supervisor about this issue, who acknowledged the error, but refuses to waive the $400+ in additional fees it would require to set up the equipment in the contract, stating "Sorry, there's nothing we can do." There have been a multitude of other issues involving other hidden fees that ADT sales reps have not disclosed, unauthorized charges on my account, and misinformation and lies from the ADT account managers. I have never experienced this level of blatant disregard for legality and customer service. Despite this level of illegality, ADT is STILL attempting to charge me cancellation fees to terminate a contract they have not, themselves, adhered to. I'll be retaining an attorney and will file a lawsuit for the additional charges I have incurred, cancellation fees, and lost opportunity based on the contract that was previously available, but is no longer available.

Horrible company
Horrible company! Thieves! Took almost 700 dollars out of bank account for changing the name of the account after my father passed away. Was told it was a mistake and that they would refund us. After days of not receiving funds called to check the status and they now refuse to give the money back. Will be contacting bbb and an attorney!

Not a good company
I order a window sensor it was bad in May never received it they want to change $ 50 dollars for it every time I call them same runaround still not working 😕 customer service sucks

It is a scam
It is a scam. Beware of the fine print. They will not tell yuo that you are under contract for 3 years. When you call to cancel they will tell you that you have to pay 75% of the remaining charges for the next 3 years. It is just a big scam. Their services are also poor. System does not work well most of the time.

this company has been charging me for 5 years without providing any services and equipment that did not worked. Finally called today to make sure I am done with them for good. got email to return equipment, they can look for it in a garbage from 5years ago. Never again

Beware of this company
Beware of this company. I called and asked what I have to do to cancel and the man said I had to pay 600.00 and all I got was the simple package no doorbell just the box. And I contacted this other person who told me that whoever told me that I had to pay 600.00 was trying to rip me off embezzle money for his pocket. It was a lie because I called another day and a lady answered and I asked her how to cancel and she said I just had to pay 63.99

ADT failed to contact me for home alarm activation and they still did not answer me why.....
I have been an ADT customer for 20+ years and their customer service has never been this bad. They grew too big and the management is out of control. I had the worst ever home invasion on 08/10/23 that caused my husband to be hospitalized and major damage to the house. The entire family had to stay at a local hotel. We called ADT many times to find out what happened with the alarm system and why they failed to notify the homeowner. Every time I called ADT with the home invasion, they put me on hold forever and I had to hang up because of the long-hold, up to 40 minutes. At any rate, the ADT sales woman gave me the phone number to call and complain. I called the number to speak to a supervisor, but I had to leave a complaint message with the phone representative on 08/17/23. She said the supervisor has to call me back for this major complaint within 24 hours but ADT still has NOT called me back. Besides, I have multiple other issues with ADT that I cannot describe all here with the limited time and space. I will not let ADT pass that easily because my husband was attacked so badly. We feel like we lost our sweet home. He has 8(eight) rib fractures and more.... I cannot be calm any more.

ADT makes it impossible to cancel alarm service.
Despicable make my 85-year-old dad sit on hold for 60 minutes verify his name and password and he wants to cancel service now transfers to cancellation department for another 45 minute hold. Well the easiest way now is a Stop payment at the bank should not be this hard to cancel ADT service and should not treat elderly people like that. Scam. By the way this is the third time he tried to cancel and you send him around and around ADT just hopes you give up and keep their service.

Shady “contact”
Response to your incessant upswells to a 5 year contract i didn’t know i was signing in 2019 AND of which you cannot provide documentation AND which you provide no recourse for cancelation, which I only had access to for 5 MONTHS. pErrrggggg! Leave me alone!!! I haven't owned that house since 2019 and am still paying the 1000s of dollars that stupid system cost even tho I only was in the house with it for a few months!!! I will NEVER be a customer of yours again. What a complete rip offf!!!! I asked to get out of my contact and you said NO. I promise that "no" has cost you so much business. Every month when I pay that bill, I am committed to telling at least 10 more people how you continue to charge me for 5 YEARS for a system I had access to for 5 months.

I have tried to cancel my service for over a month. When I call I speak to someone and they say they have transfer me to accounting. I have waited over 40 mins with no one ever responding. When I called back to speak with a supervisor, I was also put on hold for 20 minutes. Supervisor, then called me back and said oh I’m sorry to hear that. Can we just reduce your bill? I said no I’d like to cancel my service and she said oh will have to send you over to accounting to speak to somebody again on hold for 40 minutes, there is no one on the weekends and no way to cancel the service online. Worst company ever.

I called today to cancel my security and medical alert accounts and I have never been so disrespected. My name is Madeline Claggion I called to find out what I needed to do to meet my obligations to close my accounts. I was placed on hold for more than fifteen minutes so then I attempted to communicate by chatting. No results there. I want to end my financial obligations and end my service for home security and medical alert.

Run as fast as you can. ADT has horrible customer service and there is not much you can do about it once you are under contract. Initially, the techs that set up my equipment drilled holes through wall interior and exterior to run lines. I was shocked this wasn't run by me when installing. right away equipment didn't work (plan to be on the phone with ADT for an hour or two). I learned that the techs and those that come to your door to sign you up are not ADT employees but contacted staff. They have no accountably to ADT. Which explains receiving misinformation and janky setup. ADT customer service will pass you along from 1 person to another until you the customer gives in and hangs up. I have had 2 or 3 good calls that where helpful but besides those horrible service, horrible experience. I stress that the equipment does not work, you will be paying for a service you will have to call monthly and sit on the phone being past around for hours with no end resolve. I finally accepted the fact I got scammed and stopped calling in waiting for my 3 year contract end. ADT called me to renew my contract, a great time to cancel my service. They proceeded to once again push me off placing me on hold. I currently sit here as I write this review. I have talk and confirmed my identity to 3 representatives now and have been place on another hold. I am currently 1 hour in. Again, ADT representatives must be training to push customers along until they fold and hang up. Save yourself the headache and find another company.

ADT is the worst of alarm systems do not buy from them.. I’ve went back to using ADT alarm system. I had to move do to my job no choose in the matter. I explained this to ADT. They wanted me to transfer the system. Well come to find out I couldn’t not put an alarm system on the rental home. There house there rules.. I had ordered the ADT Google system. Ft hey called me about the ADT Google system. Me not knowing I could not add the system to the rental I had to return the system. They mean ADT don’t tell you if you get the Google self installed you install u fix ur responsable not them for the equipment you break or something goes wrong you buy. I called to return theADT system. Lord have mercy it took me two weeks to get them on the phone. Holding for all most three hours, several times. Switched to five different people. No one knew nothing. I was livid and tired. After the second weeks of hold I finally got a man name Nic on the phone he was one sided not understanding I couldn’t keep the system. He tried to convince me for about another five minutes. I was told that if I canceled the services I would not be charged for the equipment. I didn’t bring the last equipment from the house to apply to the rental because I couldn’t.. but had I knowing I would be charged I would have taking it down for future use of when I did buy my house. I didn’t bring the equipment because I was told to leave it, so I left the equipment on the house. Just to get a return label I was charged my account $2100.00. Dollars, I was pissed.. I’ve used ADT in the past several time for over 20 years. When the military tell you to move you move. This is the worst system I had to deal with. Was never told I would be charged this amount. Just discussed with ADT for live.

Terrible
Terrible! Bought an alarm system three months ago for $6000. Nothing but problems! Keeps us up all night with constant chirping and chimes. We call them and it takes weeks for them to come out. I am trying to get them to come out and remove it and get my money back.

Terrible!!! I would give them 0 stars if I could. My cameras have not been working for a while. Every time I called the wait time was at least 30 minutes. Technical support people don’t really know what they are doing. I had a one of them to just hang up on me, because she had no clue how to solve the problem. Talked to their billing department, couldn’t hear the person on the other end, asked her if she could call me back. She never did. The worst company ever to deal with!!!

I have been with adt for several years they came out spent a total of a round 15 minutes told me it was a spectrum problem I called spectrum they informed me that there was no way to lock adt out of the system I don't know I'm not a tech either way I s t ill have the problem and they c h arged me close to $300.00 for this I would not recommend them to secure my garbage can they are a disgrace very hurt after being with this company for years .I suggest peaple especially with a buisness tp protect go somewhere else

I was an ADT customer for more than 10…
I was an ADT customer for more than 10 years , no issues with service, but needed to suspend service due to cutting household expenses. . The disgust and disappointment with the company was in the process of turning off service after 10 years.. It was the most painful, intrusive process Ive ever experienced with a company. I wont return. it

Don’t even consider ADT!
After 10+ years with ADT, at $75 a month, my keypad needed to be replaced. The cost? $788! With only one incident during my 10 year history - when my housekeeper inadvertently left a door afar - I decided it wasn’t worth the cost, particularly when there are other less expensive providers available. How long did it take me to cancel service? One hour and 15 minutes! Really terrible terrible service. I do not/not recommend ADT for anything! UPDATE: As of August 25 my problem with ADT has been resolved to my satisfaction. Thank you ADT.

Have had my system 3 months and my bill…
Have had my system 3 months and my bill pay online has been the worst thing I have ever experienced.Would not recommend anyone to go with ADT now I’m locked in for 33 more months under my contract.
