NO MONITORING AND YOU CAN'T CANCEL EVEN WHEN CONTRACT IS FINALY UP!
Seeing how the 1 star reviews get a response maybe I will have better luck getting a hold of someone this way. Have had this system for 3 years, 2 1/2 of which I did not use and actually removed the system from the house after having multiple alarms go off with no follow up phone calls. They finally called me one day, which took 6 hours to call me and my 12 yr old son was in the house, when they called, I told them to yes dispatch the police BUT to tell the dispatcher that a 12 yr old boy was in the house. Well guess what they DIDN'T do!! Luckily the cops got my son out of the house safely, but were so mad that they called me and screamed at me for 10 minutes because they almost shot my son - they had no idea he was in the house and I should have notified ADT that he was in the house. Right then and there I disconnected all of their equipment. Paid the monthly bill until the contract was up which was finally 2 months ago - BUT SHOCKER guess what, you can't cancel. I have been calling for 2 months and every time I am on hold for over an hour each time. RIDICULOUS - can't send an email to cancel your account, can't talk to the billing dept or the customer care center. You have to call a special account cancellation number - which never gets answered. SHADY PRACTICES. They DO NOT monitor your home, they DO NOT follow direction, they DO NOT understand what customer service is. Should have known what type of company they were when the initial salesman came to my house for the demo and flat out told us after 2 hours that he was not able to leave until he made the sale, so he ended up selling us the whole set up for around $50. If you decide to go with ADT, which I don't suggest, just keep telling them no it's too expensive and you will get a whole system for less than cost. Horrible company!

If there was less than one star that would be my rating after 2 days on the phone totaling 12 hours of phone time talking to 11 people in various departments back and for billing relocation cancellation collections etc finally an angel named Christy answered the line and fixed their error Amen and Praise Jesus. I have been trying to cancel the Pulse option on my ADT account for about three years. They are giving me a refund for the times they’ve charged me for that option that I don’t use anymore however they have not removed that from my account as I requested years ago so I have to call each year to get a refund. There is only one department can actually remove Pulse from my account but the waiting time to speak with someone is anywhere from 40 to 50 minutes and you’re lucky if you get the right department-I usually get transferred . I’ve been with Adt 33 years and I’m not really treated like a preferred customer. The customer service people were professional and polite but no one knew who to get me to to cancel my Pulse account in a timely manner. I will be looking for a new security service.
Beyond FRUSTRATED with poor service
Beyond FRUSTRATED trying to work with ADT. What started off with what should have been a simple fix resulted with me spending more than 3 hrs on phone, hold, and video calls. Calls got “dropped” 4 times with only one agent calling back. They labeled a window and door on our property incorrectly. Yes it’s not a huge deal except that doors and windows operate slightly different when allowing owners to exit homes after arming system. We assumed and were told by at least 3 different agents that it is a simple fix to rename the zones. You would think they’d understand our frustration when after us spending several hrs trying to address it, it is still a problem. They insisted on a video call as if they didn’t believe that we’re opening the window and seeing the panel show the fault on the door repeatedly. They then think that by telling us it looks updated on their side fixes the problem for us even after video calls show otherwise. How can I have any faith in this company to protect our home when they can’t properly identify zone faults, they can’t manage to call me back and it takes hrs to get through. Heaven forbid there be a true emergency and we’d rely on them for just that service. AVOID going into contract with them!!!

Wrote a one star review of ADT 3 days ago. ADT answered back in 24 hours. They gave me a website to go to which has strong religious overtones and almost nothing to do with resolving my issues. Why am I not surprised, these people have no code of ethical behavior.

This is the second time I had to report ADT. The first time the 5th like supervisor had taken care of the situation of overcharging me they did reimburse me. However, the reimbursement that they sent me a few months back cause them to add late payments to my credit report as well they were blowing my phone up asking for the money to be return which was my money because they had double charged me. They literally stole the money from account on yesterday morning along with the regular payment that was due. This is ridiculous. I am disputing the charge through my bank this time. The first time I had spoken to too many supervisors who weren’t on the same page.
They refuse to give me my money back after they stole it from my account. If they cannot resolve this situation I
will be pressing charges against this company for theft.
They lied about transferring a contract
I was using ADT service at my restaurant. After Hurricane Ida damaged my restaurant, I closed permanently in 4/22. When I tried to cancel the service, I was told I could not because of the contract. I was advised to move the remainder of the contract to my residence, doing a self install of ADT Blue. I did. When the contract should have been up, and I again tried to cancel, and I was also moving to a new, leased home, I was informed that I had a 2 year contract, again, and could not cancel it. My new landlord would not let me install the devices on the windows and doors. ADT has since deactivated my account due to lack of activity, yet, has continued to charge my credit card for the past year. It doesn't matter who I speak with at customer service. Everyone says the word contract over and over again. When I mentioned that I was lied to regarding transferring my restaurant service to my home service, it doesn't matter.
Took advantage of the elderly
We are in our 80's Our Dish service people talked us into an ADT system, we have had good relations with Dish so we trusted them. The installation was terrible, we were led to believe we had 60 days to change our mind, it's 3! We had no instruction, no user manual. We tried to call for help or cancel 3 to 4 hour wait time then no real help. I'd be ashamed to work for acompany like that.
Never ever use ADT
Never ever use ADT. Our system hasn’t worked for 10 months and after many attempts to get them to fix it .. it still doesn’t work. Told a supervisor that we wanted out of our contract and he agreed. They came and took some equipment and we are still being charged. After numerous attempts to contact them they will not return my calls. I am going to report the to the BBB.
They lie and don’t follow up.

I would highly recommend you not use this company. We have individuals with disabilities and high dollar security systems and they are refusing to send out a technician to get our system up and running. They are saying we owe $272 from 2022 and that’s absolutely not true.
Just shy of fraudulent at multiple levels
I made the mistake of taking a job in a different state. My installer transferred me to corporate relocation, then cancelled my account and sent it to collections (as in, immediately - I was not given a chance to handle the alleged debt AT ALL). In the mean time, I was working on relocating my account. After 2 months, corporate billing stated I had no active accounts with ADT, but I was still getting billed. The local installer claimed I had no active account with them, since it was handled through collections.
I cancelled my credit card because even ADT corporate billing admitted it seemed fraudulent.
I then contacted their executive staff on the whole situation, as I was out $2000 for nothing. They referred someone else to contact me ("ADT Presidential Executive Response & Resolution"), who was condescending and acted like i was trying ot return a pack of used gum. He magically found an account through "ADT Plus" which "is a different division, and they can't see eachother". This "ADT Plus" was NEVER mentioned to me, and only showed up in the contract in TWO places as "plus.adt.com".
As a consumer, how can I be expected to work with a company that (purposely?) makes it impossible to contact regarding any service or payment? I was sent to "plus" though their relocation department (reachable through their 1800 number), and then billing (through the 1800 number) cannot see any "plus" accounts. This is fishy, and seems like many basic scams out there.
Note that my "experience" spans 4 months and over 30 combined hours on the phone attempting to resolve.
Update: I see “adt.com” has sent a generic ‘we want to help’ reply. I appreciate it, but I’ve emailed the CEO and many of the vice presidents, since the presidential response and tens of hours of first line phone calls for help haven’t made a difference. Hopefully Mr. Devries can help?
ADT has the WORST customer service and home security system company.
ADT has the WORST customer service. They are lazy and uninformed. I have had them for 6 1/2 years. They over charge. They can’t fix my system because they don’t make my model equipment. I paid over $7,000 cash for the equipment and am stuck paying for a service I don’t have. I’ve called many times over the years because of broken equipment and issues and they wanted to charge over $100 JUST to come out. That doesn’t include anything else. Nothing has ever been fixed. At midnight last night one of my carbon monoxide detectors went off in my basement. I was on the phone for over 2 hours and no resolve. The customer service rep put the phone down and waited 2 min before telling me there’s no supervisor answering, she didn’t even transfer me. At 3:30 this morning all the carbon monoxide detectors went off. I can’t arm my house. I can’t bypass any zones (which I need to). I was on hold for 6 hours today. 4 people all hold times. Once I got a person he was from the wrong department. I wanted the loyalty department supervisor. So far still on the phone waiting for over an hour. That’s a 6 hour wait today alone!!!!! I haven’t had one discount or deal the entire time I’ve been with this company. Not only can I not get anyone on the phone but when I do they don’t know what to do or who to transfer me to when I have spelled out the issue clearly. I just hung up on them because I didn’t go to work today because I was on the phone with ATT on hold all day. They expect me to pay $400 for THREE carbon monoxide detectors. Until I do, they won’t clear my panel and I can’t on my house or bypass any doors. I told him I have a restraining order on somebody and I need my house armed. Nope. Not only do they have the WORST Customer Service and absolutely no knowledge of what they’re doing but they treat their LOYAL customers soooooo horribly. Unfortunately I am stuck in a contract that I didn’t agree to until May 31, 2024. This is beyond ridiculous. There is no excuse for how they treat customers. Worst home security company I have ever dealt with. They did not give zero stars as an option. Because I did not want to even put one star. Still nothing has been resolved. I’m without carbon monoxide detectors and I can’t arm my house and use the system that I’ve paid thousands and thousands of dollars for and pay way more than if I was with another company. I have literally have no words. I do not recommend ADT to anyone.
No getting out
Have had their service for 3 years as contracted. No issues until I tried to cancel the subscription. I was on hold for 55 minutes after being told it would only be a ten minute wait. Then they said they required a 30 day notice and a fee to cancel. I tried to stop my auto payments and they have it locked down to where I cannot access it. And it shows the auto payment with "no end date".

We called customer service to have a test run on our system since we are gone 6 months of the year. We were connected to a person who did not speak very good English and she was located in the Dominican Republic. Another lady came on the line and we could understand her better. They also expected me at 78 to get on a ladder to reach a battery that is 10 feet up and disconnect it then reconnect it. They are sending a service person out next week. Poor communication all together.

ADT provides horrible responsive service
We have had ADT for several years paying $79 a month and have decided to switch to another provider . They have horrible customer service and rarely responds to calls . I was out of town and we had a problem with our system. We could not get anyone on the phone. This has happened multiple times. Looking for another provider who still values customer service and responsiveness.

I got AdT around April or May of 2023. I noticed they kept taking money out of my account at different times. Then another small amount for like 5.00 I called to enquirer and just simply ask why are you taking additional funds out of my account. I could never get an explanation let alone reach someone in the correct department. I was given the run around they hung up in my face and let’s not talk about the numerous times I have had to explain

I tried to get out of my contract in June called about 5 different numbers. I will seek legal measures. I will NOT be paying for any equipment and their are two many complaints across the board with this company! I would like a full cancelation. With no further obligations. I received a call last week from the so called escalation department. Same number (a joke) when I called back no one picks up. This is a scam. When I signed my contract I tried to get out of it yet the provider did not respond to me via- mail. I have copies of the contract.

Probably the worst customer service you'll ever receive and the worst security you will ever receive. The alarms constantly go off for no reason whatsoever the police are threatening to start fines! There are too many other companies that provide so much better service to protect your home and family
Horrible service and rude Customer service
Where do I start? I inherited this company because my old one got bought out by them. The quality was never the same. over the last year or more at night with the alarm set or not a chirping would start. I had to constantly reset the system. We called so many times and they could never tell us what was wrong. We hd a tech come and change batteries. We went thru countless keypad test and they never could show what the problem was. My alarm set itself off one morning and scared me so bad, I was a nervous wreck. we called and ADT says are system was not communicating with theirs because of a brief power outage, and had not been communicating with our system that's why they could never tell us where the fault was with the chirping. We cancelled finally after being hung up on, hostile rep who gave us a hard time, and was extremely rude. I told them I could not go another night being constantly awakened. I was told we could deactivate the system, which would leave us unsecured to stop the chirping, but we still needed to pay for not giving 30 days notice??? so pay for a service that would not be working, and had not for a while. I was told I would be given a credit for the last payment. Looked at my account they have given a credit but added a $50 charge for cancelling our service. Seems like you owe me for the months that we were not even on your radar and faulty equipment that constantly kept us up. When were you all running monthly test that should have showed that something was going on and the countless keypad sessions that never worked? This is so unacceptable and we will not pay for triggering PTSD as we are military veterans.

They lie, steal, cheat and then after 2 years of making payments every month on-time they threatened you to collections for equipment that they knowly make you pay for. ADT customer service is terrible
ADT customer service is terrible when your contract is up and you want to reduce your cost or cancel your contract. Just refer you to one party after another trying to get you to stay without reducing your contract cost which is absurd ($70 per month). Getting them to cancel the account is near impossible...... So, so frustrating. Stay away from ADT if possible and over the long haul, you will save a LOT of money.

I've made the worse mistake of my year, switching over to ADT, MONITORING AND SECURITY IS NOT there speciality, you don't know who's on your porch, it takes forever to load on your phone, and every single phone call I've made all I'm getting is sorry for the inconvenience which is annoying as hell... HOW DO YOU GET OUT?
Worst customer service
we are trying to cancel the service since 3 months but always kept on hold for more than 50 minutes. ADT has the worst customer service. When we called the number for a new connection, they picked up the phone immediately, and when we say we want to cancel the contract we were kept on hold for so long that we had to disconnect the line . we are getting the bills for no service provided. If there was an option i would have given Zero stars.

Beware! I paid for package online but when technician came out, he added numerous unauthorized charges including charging me for products that were never installed. I have been calling you for over a week and they refuse to resolve issue even after acknowledging that I have charges for products that were never installed. District Manager Steven Lawson called me and was accusing me of buyers remorse even though I NEVER (not even once) asked to cancel service. I simply asked them to fix extra unauthorized equipment that technician installed and set me up with items I ordered online when I signed up for service. This is beyond crazy that they are trying so hard to keep my money that their technician inappropriately charged. I've never experienced such unprofessional service from a company. If you choose to still patronize this company, make sure you review your charges carefully because technician never went over charges with me. Instead, he emailed me the second attached bill AFTER he left. I am going to continue to fight to make sure issues are addressed and will explore legal options if I need to. I just want to save someone else from this nightmare.
Steven Lawson insists that ADT does not need to do anything because contract was signed even though this "valid" contract that the technician did NOT review with me has 11 shock sensors and 9 door/window sensors, and technician only installed 13 sensors. ADT including Steven Lawson does not dispute that I was billed for more than what was installed.
I eventually recovered most of my money back through my credit cards and ADT has been billing for the money the credit card refunded since then. They will never get a penny from me. But everyone should be aware of how they do business so you can protect your against this predatory company.
