ADT was pretty good at first for many years. I wouldn't advise you to do a upgrade. They are money hungry to make a sale and want be truthful with you. They will take out of your account before the due day and twice a month if you don't catch it. I wouldn't recommend using ADT. LOOK ELSE WHERE‼️

They call our cell phones when there is something wrong, if we don’t pick up… nothing happens. If there was an actual emergency… no police is called. If the fire alarm goes off, the fire department will show up an hour later. We would have been dead by then. I called for a technician appointment and they changed the appointment time on me several times. When we take time off work we are not paid. They could careless. This is the biggest waste of money I have ever spent in my entire life.

I I tried TWICE to sign up but they won’t answer any questions. How pathetic. I will never use them from this point forward. Truly an awful company.

This company it terrible on every level. Once you sign the contract then you are told what you don’t get. We were assured what service we would get for the monthly installments we signed had some issues with retrieving footage called and we were told we don’t get that feature unless we want to upgrade at a higher monthly rate. They are crooks. We had our store broken into today had about 5000 in damages and money and cash register stolen. Not one camera picked anything up. Mind you the door chimes logged when they were opened and which one was. But not one camera picked anything up mind you they are all at a reasonable height and you walk within 2-3 feet of each camera so there is no way to enter store without tripping any one of them. Called adt oh there’s no explanation nor can we retrieve anything from cameras on our end or there’s. They have no reasons for it. But have a nice day sir. Absolutely useless and crooks.
Since purchasing 4 surveillance cameras…
Since purchasing 4 surveillance cameras and a two-year contract in September, I have had constant difficulty with the surveillance, both live camera and recordings of clips. The ADT cameras stop recording and also stop working live as well. I have complained about this to ADT customer service they do the same thing over and over expecting a different result which is to reboot the system, send out technicians to troubleshoot and fix the problem. And it continues to happen over and over. There have been two events that I wished to have captured on camera recordings, but the ADT cameras and recording system failed. ADT has a very ineffective camera surveillance and recording system. Per the technicians, my internet is fast enough, and clear up my memory space each time. they can't find anything wrong. I have also asked to get out of the contract because of the ADT's system's inefficiency. I have been refused to get out of my contract. I asked this prior to my 6 month money back guarantee.. A technician came out just 4 days ago AGAIN and deleted ALL my recordings for the sake of running out of recording space and 2 days later So, I still can not see out of 3 /4 cameras for live view and only ONE has an occasional recording. So as of now I am paying for services that aren't being rendered by ADT. I feel I'm being robbed and stolen from by force. ADT is unwilling to satisfy and resolve my complaint. They ask me to reach out and call in, I have , about 10 or more times...in the end, don't help and force me to keep in a contract... I'll apology but otherwise nothing is ever done differently. Isn't that the definition of insanity? To do the same thing over and over, expecting a different result? I have reached out to corporate and corporate has not returned my calls. I have escalated it several times, upper corporate department has never reached out to me to fix my problem or give me a refund. I have paid well over $1,000 for an ineffective system and pay monthly almost $60 a service that I am not receiving. ADT has not resolved this. And for this I give ADT a ZERO.

If I could give it no stars I would. They make you start a new contract just to transfer services. The equipment keep dropping connection from the internet and they try to charge you every time they send a technician out.
There fine as long as you don't try to stop using them
When I quit using them they didn't remove their equipment. It was not a problem until the alarm started beeping. At first it was a beep every few minutes..but then began the beeping the way it used to do when I was exiting the house... A loud steady beep. This happens at all hours any time day or night. It stops when I type in the security code but I have had to do that at 3 in the morning. I called and they refused to remove the equipment and now I have to pay an electrician to stop this problem.
So I called the number you gave me. There apparently isn't a way to "deprogram" this. You have to unplug it. Sounds simple doesn't it.
This is a process I had already attempted. The plug is in a recessed spot about a half an inch big.. and held in by a screw about the size of a tick. I ordered small screw drivers from Amazon to try an unscrew the piece of plastic holding the plug in ..while holding a flashlight. I could barely see it and couldn't manage one turn of the tiny screw. I tried to pull the plug out anyway in an attempt to break it off from the small plastic piece containing the screw. I tried pulling the device in my living room off the wall and was faced with wires I was afraid to cut. I was told by a very nice lady from this morning to try get one of my grandchildren to try and unscrew and unplug this thing. Thanks ADT!
I would stay away from adt
I would stay away from adt. It has been just under 6 months since I got them and They are trying to charge me over $1,000 to cancel. I’m moving to a place that already has a security system so I don’t need it anymore so it seems like a load of crap to me. You can find plenty of other systems that don’t rob you.
Just had ADT installed yesterday and I’m already cancelling
Just had ADT installed yesterday. It’s 1am and the fire alarm is going off…. Go to the panel- nothing indicates any issues and I cannot TURN THE FIRE ALARM OFF. My small kids are now awake- thank you ADT for disrupting one night that I was getting to sleep. I had to call and THEY PUT ME ON 2 TEN MINUTE HOLDS to tell me I needed to unscrew the panel and power it down until a technician can come out in 3 days. What?! It’s brand new. The technician won’t be fixing it, they will be removing it. At least it happened now before the cancellation window expires for the contract.
Customer service is extremely poor
Customer service is extremely poor, very long hold times. They bounce from agent to agent. I strongly advise to stay away from this company. They out grew their personal client care.
They treat you like a customer, nothing more.
I recently needed help, I called the PD before they did. The PD dispatcher said that was typical of ADT.
MY ADVICE - avoid this service.
Predatory Practices
May 2021, I contacted ADT about moving my service to a new residence. The agent I spoke to offered me Blue by ADT since I was moving to an apartment & stated that I would receive all new equipment. They stated that I wouldn't be charged for the balance on the old account at since I am still a customer. I specifically asked about the equipment at the old residence since there is a balance on it & asked if it would be uninstalled. She stated that I wouldn't be charged for the old equipment & that after the new system was activated that someone would contact me to schedule the uninstall of the old equipment. After I activated the new system I called about the old equipment and I was told that it would remain at the old residence. On 6/1/21 ADT (WITHOUT NOTICE) debited $813.00 from my checking acct. I called on 6/2/21 and was told it would be refunded and still isn't. Called multiple times, been transferred around, and hung up on. I got my money back 6/28/21 just for them to turn around and bill me $1676.83. I have recordings of them telling me that the equipment was to be waived. And I have emails where ADT says that even though they reviewed the call they are going to stick to policy and not honor what I was told.

Again contacted by another unhelpful representative who not only stated that they are still going to hold up to their policy but wanted ME to conference in my bank to help them get money they think my financial institution is holding. They refuse to help me but they want me to help them like at this point I should care. BUNCH OF WOLVES!!! PEOPLE I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE, LISTEN AND SEEK SERVICE WITH SOMEONE ELSE...I WOULDN'T TRUST THIS COMPANY WITH MY TRASH!
ADT is SO bad
ADT is SO bad. I recently bundled my security service with another company and attempted to cancel my account on THREE separate occasions. ADT makes it nearly impossible to cancel your account. They are more than happy to spam you with offers and call you for system upgrades with little to no verification, but try to cancel. The verification process is unreasonable. But then they tell you you can send in a LETTER of all things to cancel. Like that cant be forged by ANYBODY. Mind boggling. Never mind the fact that my service hasn't been monitored since January due to the 3g network going away. You think they discounted me at all???? No way. Happily charge you a monitor fee for monitoring NOTHING. Managers are no help. Crap company, spend your money elsewhere.

Adt is full of BS..My Equipment is just like new almost 8 months old and I'm moving into a house that I recently bought...I was told by Adt that they would Reactivate my Equipment at the new House and start a new Contract..Instead they want me to purchase new Equipment (Actually the same thing that I already have) plus pay off the existing Equipment and leave it at the Rental that I'm moving from..Several Adt employees told me that I could and they would Reactivate my existing Equipment yet a few of them just want to make a sell..I received a Bill for $3945.00 early TERMINATION FEE AND FOR THE EQUIPMENT that they want me to leave when I already told them that I still wanted their Services and they told me that Reactivation my existing Equipment wasn't a problem..I honestly don't think that any of them know WTH they're talking about and/or just trying to make an extra dollar from a Female Disabled Veteran which isn't happening
I've had ADT for over 2 years now and…
I've had ADT for over 2 years now and have had nothing but problems. Seems like they're out every month or so to fix issues. Wait times for appointments also take 2-4 weeks for them to get out. Yesterday I had an appointment (again) to fix the same issue as the problem a month ago. Time slot was 12-4 pm. Took time off work to be home. Got a call at 3ish and ADT said the tech was running late, should be at my place around 5. Got a call at 5 and said he won't make it. Called ADT to cancel services and they offered a "new and updated" panel because mine is outdated....BUT, wanted me to sign another 3 year contract. I said NO and cancelled. Hopefully there's a better system out there.

If I could give this company 0 stars I would. The worst company ever. The equipment doesn't work. I have begged for them to fix the situation with the door bell and they never do. I've spoken with over 6 people in a month in a half and they all tell me different things. They just want your money and don't care if the stuff works or not. If gives me so much anxiety having to deal with these people because they don't care. Every single rep I've spoken to has told me something different then each one and then they write in the notes something totally different then what they actually tell you. I highly recommend staying away from here. THEY SUCK

If I could give them 0 stars I would. I was supposed to be charged $100 to get a technician to come to my residence, reboot my system, and make sure everything is in working order. I was charged the remaining balance of my account ($814.86) AND the $100 for a tech who hasn’t even came to my house yet!!! Adt has been the worst service and experience EVER. I have anxiety daily thinking about having to deal with adt and their reps. I have been on the phone with several adt reps costing me hours of time when I should be working and providing for my family. Nothing like taking advantage of people during a global pandemic.

What began as a way to have "peace of mind" has turned into a great regret. Signed up for 3 outdoor cameras & 2 sensors (hub included of course) for about $56 a month. From day 1 of arrival had experienced repeated issues with outdoor cameras being offline. Issues may I add, I stayed in FREQUENT contact with their (ADT) customer service. Issues that are "noted" with each & every call ( keep this in mind ). In the contract of not 1, not 2 but THREE YEARS, I the customer have 30 days to decide to opt out if unsatisfied. Without the exact days of the times I called, I assure you it was 10 - 15 easily. I stay in a relatively small apartment. Within the 30 days they tacked on a chime extender, which amplifies the WiFi connection for the needs of my "huge mansion". In case you're wondering, NOT FREE. Nearing the end of the 30 days & my patience I asked about canceling, they said they would put in a ticket (?) for it but they needed a valid reason. I pointed out the fact of all the calls I made in regards to their malfunctioning cameras & clarified for both our sakes on how ADT is a home security company who's WHOLE foundation is based on...( drum roll please)...CAMERAS, I was told they TOTALLY understood me but that I needed something more concrete. I was assured he would "make the best case possible" & would return my call. 30 days came & went, I called back, was told 30 days were over. I had 3 options: take all or some of the cameras, keep sensors & pay less OR keep some or all & yup, STILL pay OR cancel & pay the remaining of the 3 year contract (about $1900) & don't be silly, give back the equipment. So, the 1 star you see up there is a dirty lie, just like ADT. Keep your $, sanity & stress down. Pass on ADT

I was an ADT costumer for a few years at a different address. When I moved to a new place, completely wired and equipped with a security system (previous owners had their own security company), I decided to change the security company to ADT, for being less expensive.
After over a year, I decided I didn’t need my landline so I had it disconnected. ADT had continued to automatically charge me for 6 month by the time I noticed. I contacted ADT about this matter. I was told although they couldn’t provide the service without a landline, I was under obligation to continue to pay the company to the end of my “contract”. A false claim as far as I am concerned. ADT didn’t install anything whatsoever to claim cost and contract to gain back cost. There was no clause of duration in the contract I signed but when I went back to it , I noted a small hand written note at a corner by the agent written 2 years. It must have been added after I had signed the paper, as I looked carefully to make sure there was no time specified in the printed papers before I signed.
The fair practice would have been to reimburse me for the 6 months payment of a service which was not provided.
Not only they wouldn’t reimburse me, but they have had many collection agencies calling me for the money to the end of the falsely claimed contract for a service they did not and can not provide.
We need consumer advocacy groups to support us, ordinary hard working or retired people against this type of corporate bullying.
Shame on ADT but more importantly “ buyer be aware “

Paid thousands to get it installed and set up with Cameras and the whole works! House got robbed and the alarm didnt go off!! I have had issue after issue that cant be fixed or fixed for a few days then back to crap. The cameras alert me an hour after an event happens and I cant get my money back. I was told the will record 24-7 then after installed that it would be an option in a few months. Now I’m told it’s an option but will cost an additional $20. Waste of money and would never do it again! Can’t wait for the contract to be up so I can cancel……. Update they tired to “fix” my stuff after this post however they made an appointment for 12 to 4 today and I waited all day they never showed up
Highly disappointed, family does not feel safe
I have been a customer of adt/protection for over 10 years now. Recently purchased a new home and requested services to be moved from old home to new home. Also had new installment at my new residence. Technician came out and installed services and went great for the first 2hrs, and the chimes went out of the panel. Next day, the entire panel shuts off and My home now has NO ALARM SERVICES. Called Customer service and the soonest the install/repair department can get to fix my panel is 4 August. So as of Tuesday 27 July my panel has been off and I have no security services from this company. And to get a technician out earlier than the 4th, I’d have to pay $150 for overtime for the technician. $150 for something that was installed incorrectly and not at any fault to my own? At this point my husband and I are furious, because we are paying for a service that does not work. Now we are ready to cancel services and are asked to pay a $750 cancellation fee because of the contract. So since day 1 of receiving my new installation, I have not received the service that was promised to me upon signing the new contract. Pay a cancellation fee for something that hasn’t worked this entire time? It’s unfortunate that I trusted this company to provide security services and have gone 5 days thus far (will be almost 10days before the technician comes and fixes) to my home and my family.
Honestly
Honestly, I hate ADT. I'm super close to cancelling it! I constantly have problems with my billing going through even if I have money in the account it will reverse. And then all of the equipment is extremely buggy! The app needs updates, the control center often freezes and customer service is the worst!
